Well, Joe and I (along with our comrades) have made it from sea (Atlantic, where we live) to shining sea( the Pacific) . It was just fabulous today.. The surfers were waiting on a great wave and we enjoyed all the loveliness of the West Coast in Newport Beach...

This wonderful gentleman heard us saying to someone that we were from North Carolina and he came over and said he had once been stationed at Ft. Bragg,NC.. We had a great conversation with him and thanked him for his service. He and Joe talked and found that they both had completed basic training at Ft. Polk, La in the same year, but not the same months.. Our world really is very small sometimes.

Our trip in now over. Pink car is going home. We had a great time with all of our friends both new and old. Its time to go home and get ready for next year.

No, we did not buy the pink car. Larry broke it!! So now we are taking it back to Mr. Jeff in more than 1 piece. We are headed to Louisiana first thing in the morning, so all of you will have to take our place cheering Kevin on to the World Championship!!


Mrs. Alice is under the weather today, but hopefully she will get back soon to herself and will keep you all up on what is happening here in Pomona!


1838 miles to Houma, LA! We should be there by Sunday evening!

Larry & Patsy, I'm so sorry for your double misfortune this season with both Pink Cars. I can't thank you all( you both and Miss Alice)enough for all the great pictures and stories of your travel journeys. Some of our life's journeys do not permit us the ability to do what you all do and to read and see our beautiful country through the "travel logs" you post is really special. The racing counts too!!!!!!!!!!!!.
God Bless you on your trip home, and I always look forward to reading your posts. BTW Larry, cats cover their mess. However they don't like travel much. LOL

Team Pink, if you want a break from the rig, just dart 3.3 miles north of I-10 exit 28 to 1046 Hollis Road, Westlake La. Park the rig and stay at guest house. Pink cars are covered under Mopar 5/100 warranty. Wait till we put the new motor in. It's just needs dyno, but Helms is busy right now.

I think we all hope you will continue to share pictures and stories of your return of the car and to home.

We all also feel for you for your misfortune on this extensive trip of a lifetime, but we know you had fun even if the end result was a bit of a bust. Safe travels and enjoy yourself on your way home. Your pictures have reminded me of the beauty of our country that we have also traveled through over the years. When people tell me they "flew" to a place out west, I feel bad for them because they didn't get to see our beautiful country because it's too much time and trouble to drive. They sure don't know what they've missed. Like you said the pictures of the Grand Canyon were great, but do not do it justice at all. And and RV is the only way to travel!!

Well we left the track this morning at 5:15 and after driving thru Calif. and Arizona, we are now at a rest area about 50 miles into New Mexico! It has been uneventful so far which is good. We have stopped for the night and are watching our favorite basketball team (University of Kentucky).


Just got Live Audiocast up so we can listen to stock run. I took a few pics that I will post a little later.

Sorry to hear of more bad luck! Surely you guys used it all up this last trip of the year so next year should be smooth sailing. It's probably for the best I was starting to think Mr Larry was going to turn into one of them left-coast hippie types, just kidding of course. Maybe Marshall will though, look like he was enjoying that beach way too much!
