Re: Musical Tastes
Also from Stephen Stills' first solo album.
The only album I know of that featured both Clapton and Hendrix as back up musicians on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lnN5OuxJ_g |
Re: Musical Tastes
Now back to the Country Stones...
According to Keith Richards, this was the way Honky Tonk Women was supposed to sound, ..seeing was derived from an old country song. Fiddle track was provided by Byron Berline, who played with The Flying Burrito Bros. Supposedly , he was suggested by Gram Parsons... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmCjpY4hqKE |
Re: Musical Tastes
I LIKE IT!...
Reminds me of the Anthology stuff from the Beatles... Rehearsal tracks and first cuts etc... Like the rawness of that stuff... I sometimes search the Tube for things like that... |

Re: Musical Tastes
Thanks, Mike
This album pre-dated the Eagles concept album , Desperado by two years. It rose to number 5 nationally, without 1 single record released from it... More later...:-) |
Re: Musical Tastes
Still have a Jagger /Richard song in my back pocket here....
This is the original version of "Wild Horses" by the Flying Burrito Brothers released in April 1970, one year before the Rolling Stones version on their Sticky Fingers album. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, who was friends with Gram Parsons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MchWI3sLUQo |
