Great project! i really don't understand just why there aren't dozens of 289s and 302s as well as all of the other manufacturers "econo" V8s being done.

Cuz everyone likes to go fast. IMHO.. Racing the fast cars costs Cubic $$$$...I just want to have fun.Slow car are fun too.

I feel exactly the same way. I just won't sell my soul to go racing. It's not worth it anymore.

Very true, but also many believe you have to go fast and be a chaser in order to win anything. Simply not true, right, Billy?

Well good news. I sorted out the motor problems (air leak) and it's running great now. Got the valve springs changed and tuned it in as best I can without driving it. I have next week off so Ill finish up all the little things left to do and plan on having it on track in Tucson Jan 1st.

Great news!

And that's a big part of why I aimed for a slower car myself, trying to keep the expense and maintenance work under control.
