Re: Turbocharger in Super Street???
You may want to investigate the launch control that the Pro Mods use cut good lights on a .400 pro tree. As I understand it, it's much like a 2-step, except that it retards the timing so much that it causes an explosion of un-burnt fuel in the header tube. The force from the explosion spools up the turbo in less than half a second.

Re: Turbocharger in Super Street???
Normally, the anti-lag you're referring to requires timing at about 40 degrees AFTER tdc. You could try stalling the car in second gear with the transbrake button held down. The brakes should be able to hold it at full boost and the transbrake won't operate in second gear. When you're staged, put it into low to activate the transbrake. The transbrake will hold the car since the brakes won't in low. Just a thought.
There's also a device that delivers an adjustable pulsed signal to the trans brake solenoid. When activated, it allows the car to creep forward slowly with the trans brake applied and the car at full boost. Might be hard on internal trans components though. Good luck! |
Re: Turbocharger in Super Street???
This is what Bruno Massel uses to spool up rapidly with his world-champ turbo car in Comp eliminator. His father's customers are mainly in Top Dragster and other fast bracket cars with a torque converter.
