Re: No playback tach.....
If you don't have enough hp to get the car past the 60ft timers with the setting you have in the stop now you can raise the stop rpm to consistantly get past the 60ft timers. If your car doesn't wheel stand too much, you can just put the stop on later (dragster's don't care door cars do) if the stop comes off after the 60ft timers every time your 60ft will tell you if you spin or not. If you have enough hp to get past the 60ft timers in this heat you should have no problem when the weather gets better. Hope this helps I have run door cars and dragsters on the stop and have a little experience with throttle stops.:)

Re: No playback tach.....
As far as shift timers you have to be careful staging with shift timers. If stage and your flickers and have to push the button again you have to remember to put the shifter back in 1st gear, or the brake won't hold. If you shift on rpm you won't have that problem. The trans will shift when you get to the correct rpm (no guessing) I'm sure shifting on time is the preferred method. I personally prefer the rpm method and no problems staging. How ever I am old and slow and would forget to put the shifter back in 1st gear when restaging. You could ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. Comming off the stop in a higher gear is suppose to make the car more consistent and also spends less time on the stop therefore more MPH. 1 staging problem rolling the beams cause the trans in 2nd gear might make you change your mind LOL :D

Re: No playback tach.....
:)Most people who shift on time while throttle stop racing go on the stop from .000 to .300 and shift out of 1st gear around .5 seconds, come off the stop in high gear. When you are staging the car if you flicker the light and hit the trans brake button, when you come off the button to re-stage your timer will shift in to 2nd gear while you are re-staging and the transbrake will not hold in second gear. You HAVE to put the shifter back in low gear before you stage again. If you don't the brake will not hold and you will roll the beams. As long as you dont have to hit the trans- brake a second time there is no problem.:)

Re: No playback tach.....
What I just described to you happened 1st round at Stanton. The guy I ran 1st round flickered the blttom bulb, got off the button to stage an inch deeper and when he put his finger on the button it had shifted to 2nd gear and the trans brake didn't work in 2nd gear. He rolled the beam and I got a free pass to 2nd round. :)
