Re: Crankshaft selection for a small block mopar 340
What are the Super Stock 273/318/340 guys using for crankshafts?
I have a Callies Dragonslayer I bought about 8 years ago but, I wasn't aware, at the time I needed to stock up on them, as they have been discontinued. Nice cranks with 2.100" rod journals make finding rods easier. |
Re: Crankshaft selection for a small block mopar 340
We have run production cranks in our Stock and Superstock stuff with
excellent results for the last 50 years. We do run aftermarket rods....although not the expensive ones (usually Eagle or Manley stuff). Just mag and particularly inspect the undercut areas of rod journals carefully as these thing are getting pretty old unless you can find low mileage stuff ( Hint: I have close to 100 Mopar cranks in shop for around 40 years). . $150 Steel $ 75 Cast |

I've run 340s with stock forged cranks to 7800 with never a problem. Right at 500 HP.

Re: Crankshaft selection for a small block mopar 340
I have run the stock cast crank over 8000 and never had a problem, with 273 rods! I have 5 eagles for sale! The cast crank is a lot lighter.

I have sold a bunch to Superstock 318/340 racers that
all spin the Heck out of them. |
