Dick,
Quote: "Simple solution for records is exclude record runs from AHFS" That is a good idea & another thing I think should happen is with qualifying. Look at Comp: index hits in eleminations only. Let it hang out in Qualifying, 1.40 under runs don't count or any other runs. Then you had better not run 1.40 under in eleminations. Elemination runs count on AHFS. Make it that way at both Nationals & Divisionals. That would save some book keeping by the NHRA AHFS guys. (Bob Lang, Wesley & Nitro Joe) It would let the guys that want to run fast go ahead & do what they want. Then the bracket race woud be in eleminations, not in qualifying. Adger Smith |
I would make the following changes:
Open races would be just that, Open, no HP or Index factoring, for any run . Division and National events would still come under the AHFS with the exception of "mineshaft" conditions, lets say sea level or below, where the magic numbers would then go to 1.45 under for instant HP and 1.20 for review. As for giving HP I would set a limit, lets say 5 HP maximum for any increase, giving 9HP to someone who runs 1.40 under in a mineshaft is just not fair to anyone else with that combo. Correct the factoring equasion for altitude tracks or get rid of it 1100 I/S |
why dont we just put the Automatic Help For Slugs into its grave
let some intelligent people who know what a MINESHAFT is take care of the HP committee... maybe include a retired racer or two etc... but the DAMN AHFS CANNOT AND WILL NOT EVER WORK jack |
