You would think that with the supply being
high and the demand being about zero
the price would drop . Like any other
commodity. But since it not a raw material
that doesn't apply
Not that it has anything to do with this
post but regular gas is .99/gal here
in SW Ohio

Re: Racing fuel prices?

I first met Steve Burns in 1971 or 1972, he was in college here in San Antonio and had a old Dodge Dart(?) with a slant 6 that he “bracket raced” and that was his test vehicle. We had a mutual friend Jack Crider , who ran the “machine shop “ for Jacobs Distributing on South Flores.

He told us he had worked with a chemist who developed a “recipe” to boost octane and performance without any detection. And the rest is history....

Their first plant was just south of San Antonio off hwy 181, had a pipeline and smaller storage from previous oil company, was always told that their base was from Texaco.
Later moved out to Elmendorf Tx and put in his big plant.

Steve has done well and is truly a great success story and we owe him a tip of the hat.

Was just wondering about fuel pricing during the huge drop in prices at the “pump”.

Re: Racing fuel prices?

I have always assumed that the cost of the crude oil required was a much smaller percentage of the cost to produce pump gas than it was to produce racing gas.

Is that true?

I use C11. It's not good for anything.........other than going fast. I'll probably try using C12 on my next computer dream date.

Pro tip: My wife is a Latina so she is higher compression than normal thus the use of C12. You don't want to throw a rod at higher RPMs and knock out the bottom end.

With the fraudulent lawsuit filed against VP in Los Angeles (Dion & Sons vs VP), want to see what the outcome is and will this affect the prices
