The membership money ($20) goes toward paying for pens, paper, membership cards, decals and eventually a news letter and postage etc. We haven't decided where the next race will be. Still talking to different tracks. We are doing one race at a time right now. The points started with the race at Lakeland. Tina Summerton is in charge of that and has it all compiled nicely. The IHRA rules and regulations are what we voted to use because of there are more classes for everyone to fit in. Also the indexes are softer and so are some of the HP factors. However any NHRA or Nostalgia classes and indexes can be used if the racer desires. I believe Tina has the minutes from the meeting (she is the Sec/Treas.) No, there is currently no web site. That is also being discussed and worked on. Things are moving along nicely. We have accomplished a great deal in a short time. We should have a great turnout for the next race by the number of emails we are receiving. The next race at Reynolds will be fun! I can't wait. Jim |

Jim,
What kind of decal designs do you have? Do you have any drafts? Smitty |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
If you look at the picture next to my name you will see what the decal looks like. I know it's small but you will get the idea. Jim

Alan,
OK, great! Hershey can't wait to see Lacey again. Shane will be driving my car ( he's not used to such a slow car) as I will be busy with the race. Tell Rev and Dick to come on down to. Jim |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
I want someone to step up here and put in 1 bill and spread it for the semi finishers for this race. You dont have to be at the race or even planning on being there. You'll be thanked very much !
Come on- it's $100. Hell 2 of you can split it if you want ! |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Hi Guys
I missed the first race in Lakeland, however sounds like it was a big success. I'm looking foward to seeing/meeting everbody. I'm building a 61 Chevy Impala Super Stock car. If I can get enough H/P from a "409" motor I'm going to run it. So far we have got 661 H/P I think we need 700 to be competive. As I said really looking foward to seeing everbody. Jim Davis |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Jim,
We will be interested in seeing your '61 for sure! I hope it's sooner rather than later. Jim |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
mr. davis we campaigned a 409 for about 15 years, if i can help you in any way , let me know, that is one cool combo , looking forward to seeing it.

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Jim,
Go ahead and bring your car. All you have to do is run the index to be competitive. There are no heads up class runs. Everyone just dials in and races. These races are all about having fun. I just put my camaro back together to run SS/IA at the association races.after a 2 year layoff. We really need everyone to support the association to make it as successful as the one in the northeast. The first race at lakeland was a blast. Plenty of qualifing runs and some good racing. Hope to see all of you there. Mike Pearson |
