I knew you wouldn't let us down, Al.
I'll keep digging for more obscure photos to share. Any requests? Anyone? I do not remember ever seeing the Gold Dust car that Corky has asked about... Quote:

I snapped this pic of the well known D5 Stock and Super Stock racer who coined the phrase: "Which way to the p-a-a-a-a-ay window?"
The SS/NA '65 Chevelle convert was an original 327-250 Super Sport four speed convertible. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0car-1-1-1.jpg |

Re: Thunder Valley
That wagon got missed in the National Dragster wagon feature. :(
I think it was one of the spring boards for a well respected Pro Stock racer!;) |
Re: Thunder Valley
Glen, I remember taking the wagon to Fargo, the condition was if the wagon ran .30 under Lawrence would buy it for Jason (Line). It did, and the rest is history. The first national event Jason ran at Topeka he went to the 1/4 finals. gsa612

Re: Thunder Valley
Man! that all seems like yesterday!
The good ol' "PIE WAGON" With BOHICA on the license plate. Ha! Ha! That car was a life changer for many people. Good times & memories, new friends as well as a new learning curve and taking things to the next level !! "eliminate the variables!" I learned ALLOT form that car ! Thanks, Peter B.!! Re: Thunder Valley
Al,
The first guy on the left in the TVD group shot is Roy Holmberg. He drove the '57 Chevy pictured going away from the starting line just under the TENSION '57 Chevy in the group of photos. The Holmberg brothers also had a fast for the time '67 Camaro C/SM. They qualified #2 at a couple of points races right behind Jim Ehlen's 351C B/SM, so it was a quick car at times. Roy still comes into the shop occasionally. I knew the same ones you did plus Roy, but I don't know the two on the other end. Jerry |

Re: Thunder Valley
Al,
I think Chuck Koppien's wagon was a SS/LA (although Ithink he later ran it in SS/MA as a 3-seat '65 which they never made), Ron Roddel's was a SS/MA ('64 250/250), and mine was a SS/NA (283). All of them started life in my little garage. I still love wagons, but the Oldsmobiles are SOOO much easier to work on, especially in teardown. Does anyone have a good G-body Olds Wagon cheap? Re: Thunder Valley
Interesting how many cars that Mcink has posted have Lewis Automotive lettering from Lincoln Nebraska on the side of it. Wonder how many small and big blocks Wayne Lewis built over the years for Division 5 Stock and Super Stock racers? Mcink, do you have any more pics of Lewis Automotive lettered cars?

Re: Thunder Valley
The all White 65 chevyII wagon #5698 was built and driven by Carroll Warling. The picture was taken around 1978. The car is now owned and driven by Gregg Luneak. Carroll also had a 1974 Lemans wagon that he ran in SS/OA, if someone has a picture of the lemans I would like to see it. Thanks Norm

Re: Thunder Valley
Norm,
Didn't Jerry Stealy have a similar one (Lemans-different year maybe) that was yellow? Does anyone have pictures of that car? Jerry |
Re: Thunder Valley
Jerry had a 1972 Lemans wagon and it was yellow. It was also a SS/KA. Norm

Re: Thunder Valley
The Pontiac wagon in #61 above I believe is the wagon that Jerry Stealy had. In the above picture it was owned/driven by Jerry Huiser.

Re: Thunder Valley
I thought that might be it. Thanks Norm & Jerry T.
