Glenn,

It is within reason that a well done 327 super stock engine can make 580 - 585 - 590 horse range.

I expect the Super 10 to run 1/4 mile et in the 10.40 - 10.30 range

Some mighty fine Saturday weather work day updates. Man O Man, it is soooo good to have some sun and relative warmth [low 60's]

These photos show I am closing in on engine position and header fit. The engine position is a balancing situation between header fit, steering shaft clearance and driveshaft angle.

Larry, do you have or anyone following this build have a opinion on how a truck would work with a stick combo? Has anyone ever run one with a stick?
The index in SS/TB is .25 softer than GT/F which is the same 10.5 weight break. Seems like a good combo.

Correction, meant GT/TB vs GT/F.
GT/TB 10.85
GT/F 10.60
Both at 10.5#

tough to make up for the weight break the automatic gets in gt/tb

Jim,

as Mark posted above, the "automatic with converter" is allowed 5% weight removal even if that means running lighter than the class minimum. In the case of the Super 10 it means my truck would be about 150 less weight with an auto over manual trans.

Yet consider this, as of now only a few trucks are running in the GT classes. If you want to build a manual trans GT S-10 I say do it. The construction would be the same. Most parts would be the same except for those items specific to manual trans.

It would be great fun and you would still hold the option of swapping in an automatic.

First photo shows final fitting to complete the bed floor.

Second photo shows a test of 3m spray undercoater on the tailgate. I like the look and will spray all the bed interior with that product. It will be a very lite coat just to give the bed interior a clean appearance.

In addition, we will install a white aluminum bed cover. The rear section will have a piano hinged section for fuel and battery service.

That bedliner coating will make for a clean appearance for sure...good looking machine!

Hand,

It is not bed liner material. It is 3M rubberized undercoater in spray can. It goes on in a very lite coat [especially if you move quickly]

Three can will do the job for about $9.00 per can. #08883
