Re: A990 Super Stockers

Looking for any info on a 64 plymouth with a 65 front AWB owned by Sanford Bolin of Arkansas. Originally and Aluminum front 4spd max wedge. Was lettered SLEEPYHEAD on the door as a AWB. THANKS

Check the new A/FX topic.
Took that from a pic site , supposedly Sanford's car way before it was primer for years and then blue.

I saw Sanford's car run on the first day he had it out at Little Rock Dragstrip. It still had the cast iron exhaust manifolds and he ran it with the factory dumps open.
Somewhere I have pictures of Joe Ralph's car from 1964 or 5. I will try to find/post them.

Any pics of the Sanford Bolin car?

Click the (forbidden) second link in my post #61 in this topic.
I believe that is one of Sanford Bolins AWB cars.
I do remember one that was several colors of primer before being painted blue.
I also remember he sold the blue one and replaced it with a roadster.
The roadster is the only one I remember seeing lettered "Sleepyhead".
Could be wrong.
It was a l-o-n-g time ago.

He had the MSO on the body, but it was in really bad shape as far as I know. He sold that body. If anyone owns that MSO, I would question the originality of the body as there wasn't much left from acid dipping/lightening/rust from what I was told. I think the body was blue. I bought one of Sanford's old Barnett Hemi's about ten years ago.
You should read the rest of the posts on page 7...

Anyone here remember this '65 A990 Coronet...looks like he switched the trans push buttons over to the center instead.

That pushbutton unit is from a ' 64. All ' 65 Coronets were either column or console shift. You can see on the steering column this car was a column shift.

Jerry good eyes...and I believe all '65 A990's came with a tan interior.
