I tried several different point, but had trouble holding it on the line. Now I realize that red light was from it creeping up while I was staged, I didn't notice it at the time.

We had the creeping issue the first year with our car. We have four wheel discs so I wouldn't expect the problem. I finally called strange and they straightened me out. I was used to plumbing street rods with a pressure balance valve on the rear brakes. Turns out drag cars you put the valve on the front. That and doing a very good job of bleeding and no more creep.

Thanks, Bob, I really appreciate the input. And that meshes well with what I'm hearing from others.

Here's a couple more pictures. I think this one was Q4.

And here we are at our lunch stop on the way home, with our hard-working Ranger getting a brief rest.

My general rule of thumb has always been, 3000 lb. car, 1500 lb. trailer.....4500 lb. station wagon ,or larger, 4 wheel trailer brakes.
Wow!
And for those who've ever towed between Phx. and Fontana, double Wow!

Dave love the car, had a 66 malibu 300 2 door that I took my wife on our first date in. Granted it had the 283 & glide from the factory, the next year I pulled sbc out and put 1969 396 375 horse with a th350. I miss that car!!

Surely that Ford Ranger has the 4.0?

Very cool! Congrats on the successful debut. I love a 66 Malibu.

Yes, it has the 4.0, and with the weight distributing hitch it's very stable at any speed. Once on the way back from Bakersfield, after cruising smoothly at 70+ MPH I stopped for gas, and when I got out the wind nearly blew me over because I had no idea it was windy. I was completely unprepared for it.

Without that hitch it's almost undrivable though.

It'll accelerate (a little) up a 6% grade with my Camaro on the back, which is a little heavier than the Chevelle.

But I've logged a lot of miles going up hills with the pedal on the floor, and the storage space is very limited. Not to mention space inside the cab. So I plan to upgrade to an F-150, probably within the next couple of months.

I like my F250 better than the 1/2 ton.
