There is a plaque on the gate of the university I attended that states: to be more educated, is to be more human.

Spare me. Every single time I look for a way to find more respect for you, you prove that you're a hypocritical pompous chump. You're no less hypocritical than any Christian I have ever met. If you actually paid attention to the Bible when you read it, you'd have understood that the hypocrisy of others should never affect your Christianity.

No, reading the religious books of history doesn't make you a bad person, in the least. Being arrogant, self aggrandizing, and trying to argue from authority on a constant basis does. There are hundreds of people that I can vehemently disagree with, and still like and respect them, I can have a beer with them, I can break bread with them. The difference is that they don't constantly argue by talking about their education, or their military service, and they don't act as though they are superior. They simply state their position, and offer whatever they think supports it. But you, Eddie, there's never a discussion when you don't mention being a Marine, or attending whatever university, or that you can't be a Christian because you can't be a hypocrite, or how much real estate you and your wife own. Here's the thing, no one cares. It doesn't matter. It doesn't impress anyone. And none of it matters from a discussion or disagreement standpoint.

No, Eddie, reading doesn't make you a bad person, nor does being educated. You apparently just don't need any help with it, you've mastered it all on your own. It's not the Marines I don't respect. It's actually quite the opposite. It's not education I don't respect, I actually seek education, even from people I do not agree with. No, Eddie, it's you who earned the disrespect, and honestly, it reflects upon everything that you seek respect for.

Spin the government shut down? I have no need to spin it. I think it is a great thing. The way to stop what the government does that is outside the Constitution is to stop funding it. It's like taking a credit card from an idiot on a spending spree when they max it out and can't pay the debt. Around 75% of the government should be shut down.

Oh, I have even more of a problem with it when a "republican" does this crap than when a democrat does. And I despise a "continuing resolution", it's an act of cowardice by a group of "representatives" who refuse to accept responsibility and accountability for their actions and their refusal to act.

The government should absolutely be shut down, and remain shut down, until the group of cowards and thieves writes and passes a budget, and is held accountable for their actions. The nation needs a budget, and a plan to pay off its debt. The Constitution demands it. The survival of the Republic requires it. So, yeah, write a budget, or shut it down. If an actual up/down vote can't be held on spending a dime, then it should never be spent.

How about a little history lesson: In 1939 a ship filled with refuges attempted to enter the US, they were refused and returned to their homeland where they where put in concentration camps, gassed and put in ovens. For you good Christians, there are no less than 22 passages in your "good book" that tell you how to treat refugees. You may want to take a look at that before your "judgement day". LMAO

Who was president? Who controlled congress?

Who am I to tell another person what to do with their bodies. Women ovulate once a month and give birth once every 9 months while a man can make a child 365 days a year…so who is the problem?

Nearly eight decades after its doomed voyage, one can drew parallels between the U.S. government’s dismissal of the St. Louis and the possible consequences of President Trump’s executive order temporarily banning immigration.

Trump suspended admission of all refugees into the United States for 120 days but also to implement “new vetting measures” to screen out “radical Islamic terrorists.” Refugee entry from Syria, however, is suspended indefinitely, and all travel from Syria and six other nations — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen — are suspended for 90 days. Trump also said he would give priority to Christian refugees over those of other religions.

You heard ole saying about learning from the past.
