If you get the sniffles, I'm sure those whitey tighties will do just fine. Talk about racing stripe. I'm waiting for Old Injun to pipe in his 2 cents. . .? |

Re: Nova stocker project.
Have been out a couple of times and made some changes. Last weekend was the Midwest Class Racers event at my home track, Thunder Valley Dragway in Marion South Dakota. Went out in the first round both Sat. and Sun., but had a ball. :)

..........and? ......... how did it do?
|
Re: Nova stocker project.
Glenn, the power exactly matched the et's. Other than a change of headers for one pull, we didn't do any work....the plan was just to find out where it was. Disassembly showed some areas for possible improvements, so we'll go from there. -Al

Re: Nova stocker project.
I noticed during the process of building you changed from running valve cover breathers on each valve cover to running dual pcv vacuum lines.........can you explain the reasoning behind that ???? Pros or cons ???

Re: Nova stocker project.
Monday was 'dyno day' with the freshened up motor. Sorry for the out of focus. Jason from Victory Engines attends to some details before we fire it to break in the cam and lifters.

Re: Nova stocker project.
I'm curious Al ..... how high of RPM do they run your engine on the Dyno?
|
Re: Nova stocker project.
7,000 (before freshen up), Glenn. -Al

Re: Nova stocker project.
Winter has returned to Dakota Territory. This is the only internal combustion engine I'm working with today. :(

Haha Rich that's just a normal snow storm in this part of the country. Clean it up and go about your normal day. Right Al?

Re: Nova stocker project.
Not much new to add. We decided the rocker geometry could be improved a bit, so a new set of Trend pushrods were ordered and plopped in. Will drop it back in over the next couple of weeks. Spring can't get here quick enough!

Motor in the Nova thinks it's working at that famous burger place in your neck of the woods.....In-N-Out. :) Some.....errrr....adjustments are needed so new headers will be happy, happy, happy. Stay thirsty, my friend. ;) |
Re: Nova stocker project.
A new set of headers meant changing the steering box out for an early Camaro unit.
