Other than have the state insure the event, not a damn thing,

The other question is what can he do to force fans to attend?

Not a thing.

Figure it this way ... seats in a baseball stadium are about 20-22 inches wide. That means every fourth seat. You won't be able to put people in every row, so figure on every fourth seat in every other row. So, a 40,000 seat stadium might be able to fit in 4,000 to 5,000 fans.

At the beginning, the NBA was the canary. When the NBA cancelled games, everyone took notice and cancelled other events.

I am glad to hear that you are able to keep things going. I got laid off from my hospital marketing job in February 2019 and have been freelancing since then. So I am still freelancing and working from home. I was already in the position of working hard to keep going so this is no difference for me.

My wife is a genetic counselor for one of the largest health systems in Philly. She has been able to switch all her patient appointments to telehealth and is working from home. She is immuno-compromised so I am not going to do anything to risk bringing home the virus to her.

NO

Can customers be forced to patronize businesses that open?

That is very true. I don't deal with the general public. So, my situation is a little different. Still, many of my customers are closed because their customers are closed. These guys are also my friends. You can hear the worry over the phone.

Based on what I see in my area with the businesses that are open, I would bet that if they were to open every sit down restaurant, they would all fill up!

Given the choice, people ARE going out.

It is completely different from the flu! On average, the flu kills 50,000+ people in the U.S in a 6 month flu season. As of this morning, COVID-19 has killed 50,000+ people in the U.S. in a little over 6 weeks. Is that different enough for you!

I work for an "essential" company and we are working through this. We are hoping testing will be available soon, but as of yet, are still waiting. We had a close coworker test positive, quarantine and return. He is 55+, in great shape, and it certainly lifted moral to have him back and doing great. He told me it kicked his butt and Tylenol was all he was prescribed.
Today he feels fine. We have seen masks of all types: pleated fiber, cloth type sewn by some of the wives, turtlenecks and bandanas. I`ve tried both cloth and pleated fiber, the latter are lighter and might flow a little better. In close conversation, its a must to stay covered, but if you work too hard, you might "nose over". We clean with bleach and disinfectant and because we do UV Penetrant inspection in my area, we have Black Lights to wand over keyboards, surfaces etc. I saw a study where in 5700 deaths in NYC, 94% had another illness. It also reported more than 40% of those were obese, and more than 30% had diabetes.I could always do a better job with diet and exercise, and I better stay smart. Say a prayer for all of us.

And if that were to happen, in a month we'd be all closed up again and would be back where we started from six weeks ago.

The latest reports out this morning are showing that the people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are infected are having strokes at seven times the rate people that age normally do.

No worries... You didn't hurt my feelings. I don't have any. Thanks for the concern tho...

I wouldn't consider myself big...Thanks I guess.

Let's try this one more time...

How do ya'll Trumpsters reconcile calling the Covid-19 virus a farce and a hoax when the president of the United States of America criticized the governor of Georgia for reopening his state too soon? I'll forgo the snarky Lysol, bleach comment this time. Once is enough...

Ken, can you please put this thread to bed. This is a class racing site with discussion about class racing, correct? I'm inundated with Covid bull**** everywhere I turn, every minute, every day, I certainly don't go on Class Racer to have it hammered down my throat even further. Holy ****, enough already...

The original posts was about what are your thoughts about RACING. Just like always the post took a left turn somewhere and went political. Now back to RACING.
We picked up the motor for the Cutlass today. Daren is moving into his new shop and gathering more parts and inventory while working on his projects, and we have welcomed this little break. That being said we can't wait for the next race.

Chip,

I am excited to see what the Cutlass runs with the new power. I wanted one of those cars for so long. It's very cool to own one with such a great history. Veronica and I would love to see it in the winners circle when you get back to racing!

Thanks for all you do!

Daren

Re: What's your thoughts

So back to the original post before the wheels fell off and the car engulfed into flames.

With Maple Grv being postponed for later on, I unfortunately think your going to see time starting to become an issue and weekends becoming less and less available. Numidia & NED LODRS I would say is a 50/50 shot right now because they are less attended events (About 300-350 cars) and Leb Valley about a 65/35% of happening but, I read yesterday they have some local state commissioners pushing to get Leb Valley open. NJ just said yesterday they are weeks away from Phase one happening and I believe racetracks are in Phase 2 of that plan so maybe...just maybe the Lucas Race at ATCO but, I think a lot is resting on what happens with the few states going back to normal and opening back up. If they ramp back up with cases I see us taking a step back and being back under stay at home orders. In all honesty, I think we race, I think the National Opens will be scratched and used as filler weekends for the Postponed Lucas Races in D1. It’s just a crazy time being a Division Director, Track Owner and Race Promoter.

It's still pretty funny isn't it?

Anyone who followed this clown over the years knew full well that he was out for his own benefit and was willing to destroy anything that got in his way.
Great choice you made!!

Just as I will be laughing my AZZ off in November when the petulant child in the White House is voted out of office.
