Moose, yeah I'd like to paint it back to the JRT paint, but no money to do that now. I have one of Sanford Bolin's Hemi's that was a Barnett Hemi from what I was told about it. It has RAZORBACK stamped in the heads above the exhaust ports next to the valve cover. Fred Ott contacted Steve from Steve's Speed Shop in Little Rock and he told us it was Sanfords. No injector setup though. It would be easier to put the blower setup off the MW and pick up a Hemi intake. I'd need new headers, but I have a used set of regular 64/65 B-body headers to replace the zoomies on there now. I think that is what they ran anyway from the photos.

Re: A990 Super Stockers
James, so is it safe to say that Hemi motor was originally in the old Sanford Bolin '64 Plymouth AWB that ww63 has now, or did Sanford have more than one '64 or '65 Plymouth back then...and what does Razorback mean, was that the name of another race car...

Re: A990 Super Stockers
I was told it was one of the Hemi's from the roadster. Sanford owned Razorback Transmission shop in Little Rock from the info I got. Ron Cheshier ended up with several of Sanford's Hemi's from what I was told. I talked to Ron many years ago after finding a receipt with his name on it. I haven't talked to Ron since he wife got sick. He had an SS/DA Camaro the last time I saw him in Ennis.

Re: A990 Super Stockers
James, okay got it now...so about your Hemi motor if it were me I'd personally sell the blower and put a injector setup back on the motor just to make it more period correct but that's just me...also can you explain the blower motor swap and body mod's that the car currently has now...does it have a wedge motor in there now, and who replaced the rear quarter wheel wells after they were radiused.

The original fiberglass hood has been cutout, glassed back in and cutout again. The engine is a 471 inch wedge with 286 MW heads, 6-71 and Enderle hat. The blower intake is an Indy MW unit. The car had a Hilborn MW injector setup on it at one time. The previous owner didn't get much attention with the flat hood and MW injectors (short stacks), so on went the blower. Yeah, it would be more correct to have the injectors but it wasn't long before a lot of cars got the blowers. They were all obsolete after the flip-top cars came out, so there was a narrow time period there anyway. The fenders were probably done by Kemp Auto Body that did the paint. I was told they grafted in GTO fender panels.
There was some other Mopar parked next to it for a while at Garlits museum. |
Re: A990 Super Stockers
It looks like Sanford Bolin is still around. I found a Facebook page for him and I've tried to contact him so we can verify the car and my engine. He is about 70, so I'm surprised he is online at all.
