Re: I got bumped
Kish is right the rules were never undated on that page.
Hear is what was posted on Jan 26 2012 by NHRAracer.com NHRA announced today that it will expand its innovative Stock and Super Stock Class Eliminations points program to all events where class racing is scheduled to be contested during the 2012 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season. Last season only 11 of the 12 races were part of the program. The popular program, which was fine-tuned one year ago to increase participation from competitors as well as contingency sponsors, also will see the all Combo Class racers become eligible for the same points as their natural class counterparts. While a few minor adjustments have been made to the initial program changes from last year, the new program was deemed a success on many levels and NHRA officials say they have already signed several additional contingency sponsors to participate in the program and anticipate more to follow as the season gets underway. Contingency awards will continue to be presented at four races, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals and the three NHRA JEGS SportsNationals events. “As times have changed, the changes that were made to the Class Eliminations program last year is what allowed it to continue,” said Scooter Brothers, chairman of the SEMA Board of Directors and chief operating officer, Comp Cams. “It is now a more viable program for the manufacturers and it allows these companies to find a reason to get involved.” 2012 Super Stock/Stock Class Eliminations How points are earned: A racer will be allowed to accumulate points at the 3 of the racer's first 5 events. All events where class competition takes place are point’s eligible events. One SPORTSnationals event will be allowed to be included in the 3 points events that make up the racer's total. The combo class will run against the index and the no breakout rule will apply. Wally's will be awarded to the winners of the combo class and the natural classes. At contingency awards paying events (3 Sportsnationals events and Indy), the winners of the combo classes and natural class winners will be eligible for contingency awards. In the event of weather or other conditions that causes the cancellation of class eliminations, the low qualifier for the class will be awarded winner points (based on the number of cars registered in the class), a Wally and contingency awards (at events where contingency is awarded). The winner of the combo class will be the car running furthest under the racer’s class index and will receive winner points (based on the number of cars registered for the combo), a Wally and contingency awards (at events where contingency is awarded). If all event qualifying is cancelled, all elements of class competition will be cancelled for the event |
Re: I got bumped
In Jeffs case they probably had a typo.
But if you don't have 3 wins in either the stock or superstock automatic you can't even think about winning. I wish they would post the number of rounds and the number of races each racer has competed in. The easy way to do this would be to give "little points" (their words not mine) for each round won. Then there wouldn't be so many ties. I was going for this thing til I got snake bit with 3 different problems. So I know pretty much how it was run. |
