But at least you got data to work with

Also, as a driveshaft follow up... super happy with the PST driveshaft, not only did they get it done very quick Autumn said the car is now very smooth down track. I can clearly see now on old logs the vibration showed on the Racepak and is now gone.

Here is a vid and a log, way too heavy on the clutch. We're going to get this dialed in and hopefully the switch to radials will follow.

Where is the release for the two step? Is it on the clutch pedal? If so, it looks like it is at the bottom of the pedal linkage. Move the release to the top of the pedal. The graph shows the engine spiking to about 7000 rpm before the drive shaft moves. This means all the counter weights in the clutch are engaging and making your clutch hit hard. Also the engine RPM graph should not pull down to a sharp V on the shifts. It should be more of a U shape on the gear change pull down. Take out some base.

Exactly, now I just need to get it done.

Todd---JUST before launch it appears that the car is moving forward just a touch ever so slight (rolling????)---or is the clutch dragging the car thru the lights--Its not sitting at a dead stop and then BAM launch--- look at around 1:29 on the video--is the line loc on or did Autumn take her finger off and is just sitting waiting for the tree to come down to the last light??? Line lock is not on and clutch need just a tad more air gap.

Todd, be aware that those chassis dynos can cause rear tire issues. -Al

I've seen them separate the cords, didn't have anything else to use so I ran them pretty high on pressure. Hopefully they're good.

We been working away picking at it little by little and we did get it a little faster today. Happy with the mph but I think we're still missing something up front.

Here at Gainesville it a real team effort by the family. They have found the speed secret, hard, smart, work!

Re: H-I-J '76 Nova re-fit.

We love to run class! We had a tough road this morning in Jim Roberts, coincidentally Jim has helped us with advice on our setup and driving tips for Autumn which have been helpful and much appreciated. Autumn squeezed the tree hard and went red, we had a little weather help and had the car at class minimum weight resulting in another best.

Very impressed with your accomplishments so far. Watched the interview of Autumn, you must be very proud of her. I know I would be if she was my daughter. Good luck to you guys in the future.

What a great weekend of racing in Gainesville, had rain on Saturday but that didn't bother us. I'm back at work but not for long as we look to head back to Gainesville tomorrow afternoon so we can work on the car Wednesday ahead of Thursday time runs.

Seeing y’all’s time slip for class looks almost identical to my C/SA class win at Indy in 1990 in the CUDA. Just keep hammering, the speed secret is hard smart work!

We'll be back under the car tomorrow! Thanks for the encouragement Larry.

So Autumn is the driver and the chief bottle washer? No surprise here. If I still had a car I'd pay her to drive it.

I just realized that this was my 1,711 post. That was my number, 1711 A/SA.
Sox & Martin, Herb McCandless, Jimmy Lovallo, Frank Lupo, Lenny Croteau, Joe Delorenzo, Jerry Stein, Wes Leopold Sr and Jr., BIll Ceralli, John Kunsak, and many others and of course my cousin and partner FJ Deleo, all inspired me to achieve my dream, to compete against the very best.

I must have missed it. When did you drop down to I/S ? .735 under, impressive for a car with not that many laps. Congratulations to you and Autumn.

Greg, First round was a great round we were going to go a .44 on a .46 and she ran a .48 on the brakes. Round 2, not so good, I may have some tuning issues because I just don't see why it would have slowed .08 between the two runs, wind was also sporadic and we may have been bitten a bit there but regardless of that, Hidalgo laid down a great run as he was .008 to her .014 and we couldn't get there to maybe change the outcome. We would have run a .52 flat out on a .48 dial and had nothing for him at all, my bad I messed that up. We'll be in the lanes at 7:45 to enjoy the show!
