Fishing Report: Redfish 10 Jeff 00. That is good for a light, but bad otherwise. I think we are getting a small outermost band of hard rain from that Patricia in Central Mexico. It is going to be wet down here for a few days. All yall owe me. I am luring that storm here so it don't go west.

Larry, I've really enjoyed the Arizona pictures. In 1961, I was stationed at an Air Force radar station, on a mesa over looking route 66 , a few miles west of Winslow. I spent a lot of time in the desert around there. Carried a 44 magnum most of the time when I left the base. Even wore it when I went to the bank. But, I had to check it with the bartenders. LOL. Test drove an Airman's 61 Corvair 4 speed down the winding road off the mesa and west on 66 to the trading post. I was hooked. In 62, when we got back to Florida, I bought the first Corvair family/race car. The rest is history.... Tom.

Hey Rick, Tom and Ken! Hope ya'll enjoyed Meteor Crater and hope you get to see more on the way also.

We had a very enjoyable, but long day today. Started at 8 this morning and it is now 9 and we are just back to the campground. We spent the day at the Grand Canyon! Jim, Pam, Larry and I had been before, but Alice and Joe had not. The looks on their faces when they first saw it was incredible. Alice is a little like me in that she has a little issue with heights, but we just held on to the rails. She actually got brave and went some places that I would not dare go! I have a bunch of pictures to post, so I will post some tonight and then finish up tomorrow. So here goes:

http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...0sea/001_1.jpg
We started the morning in McDonald's where we had to take out a 90 day note to pay for breakfast! Definitely the most expensive McDonald's breakfast ever! But hey, we are on vacation!!

http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...0sea/002_1.jpg
This was our first view of the canyon for the day. It was very windy and sunny all day. Just beautiful weather. It got up to about 60 degrees. You will notice that our hair got progressively worse all day!

Thanks for the reports, looks like you are having fun, and lots of it.

In 2001 Patty, myself and our 3 daughters went to the NHRA 50th anniversary national event at Pomona and then up to the Div6 points race in Woodburn. We stayed at the same campground you are at in Williams,AZ It was early July, and man it was hot in some of those places. We too, had a great time 8400 miles 25 days. Surprisingly we never had a problem parking or visiting at all the National Parks and places we went with our whole rig. Painted desert, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Newport Beach, Universal Studios, Grand Tetons ,Yellowstone ,Redwoods, Rushmore, Cedar Point, Niagara Falls, etc

Looks like Geno and Adam are making good time, be sure to get a pic of Tommy who is riding shotgun with Gene.

Good Luck to all and safe travels.

If you have a chance see Zion and Bryce canyon National parks also. Bryce is very beautiful and unusual stone formations. Be careful of " short cut" offer from Zion. Very steep mountain road and switch backs. Low tunnel also. I would consider going the long way.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures. Have a wonderful trip...

Dick Butler

We missed Archs and it Is supposed to be beautiful also.

We ate at an Outback last night in honor of Mark Nowicki. We all had a great meal but none of us had salmon. It's the thought that counts.

The coffee pot was laid to rest in an unmarked burial mound along side tons of other imported crap that has a very short service life. When will we wake up and smell the coffee?

Today is going to be a relaxing day: check all 16 tires for air pressure, check fluid levels, new plugs and wires for the Saturn, weigh the car and adjust weight, add class and numbers, fix XM antenna, do some cleaning, watch NASCAR, cook some food on the grill, consume some adult beverages.

Well that is it for my pictures in the Grand Canyon! Alice and Pam both took a lot also, so we may get more of theirs posted later today. We are taking the day off today to rest up (you know how it is to get old) and get reorganized.

If you have never seen the Grand Canyon, you must put it on your Bucket List! You can't believe it til you see it and the pictures just do not do it justice! We have 3 or so more weeks of this trip, but I am sure the pictures will be boring compared to these! Just pictures of race cars!!

More later!

If weather cooperates be sure to swing through Moab on the way back from Pomona. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are fantastic. Agree with Don about Zion and Bryce but it takes 3-4 months to do all the western parks justice and know those granddaughters will be lobbying for you to get back quick.

Well, we have all had more fun than should be allowed. The Grand Canyon yesterday was more beautiful than any picture can convey. We had a blast.
I am now on vacation, since Ms. Patsy arrived earlier this week. The woman is a human/ mechanical REPORTER. Sometimes, I truly think she misses being in pictures just because she LOVES her job so much.... So everyone make sure you always THANK this sweet lady for all she does.
NOW, to another matter at hand. We finally purchased a replacement coffee pot last night after dinner. I just want to post in advance that the new box will be placed outside our RV in Vegas for 12 days accepting donations for this unplanned expenditure. Please stop by and contribute. Alice

Word to the wise:
Those Utah parks are at high elevation and can be quite cold overnight in November.
Although, a light dusting of snow over Bryce Canyon is something you'll never see anywhere else.
Thank you, Larry and company.
Good luck with the FWD.There's an expert coming your way, and it sure ain't me.

Larry, What are you going to do for a fuel sample valve?
You may want to put a petcock on the fuel pressure gauge port,if you can get at it.
Of course you'll need to remove the Schrader valve first.
