Re: Boss Mustang stocker
The approved aftermarket block program is moving along (this is an aluminum version to sort out the machining operations prior to mass market) Iron versions will be cast soon. Both aluminum and cast iron will be the strongest cast blocks on the market from any manufacturer, because of material, casting process and other advancements in design, in the pics material will be added to achieve the proper lifter phasing with the canted heads.
The Iron block is approved for NHRA, the aluminum and iron is approved for NMCA prostock https://scontent.ffar1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...a1&oe=592E8BA2 https://scontent.ffar1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...b3&oe=596EC9E9 |

Re: Boss Mustang stocker
Say Bill,
A couple of questions: Back on post #91 you provided some block casting prices,,,, Can I assume those prices would include the 'basic machining' required - or if not, what does that usually add to the cost? Do aftermarket blocks typically come with main caps - if not, what do most builders typically go with / recommend? Thanks for sharing your build and knowledge.... it's been very educational... https://www.tmeyerinc.com/category-s/1970.htm Tim has a lot of options on the block and also special pricing on the first batch of CGI blocks. When compared to a Dart block, Tim's block is a bargain. Normally Dart will charge and additional $2500.00 ~ $3500.00 for a CGI material block and a long wait. |
Re: Boss Mustang stocker
Thanks for the link, SSDiv6.
i can see why there are not many guys that can afford to be a 'casual' Class racer....... :( StickBBF |

Re: Boss Mustang stocker
The new CGI block available from Tim Meyer is a bargain for sure...as they come fully machined, even to your bore size..all that's left is to hone the bores and assemble
$3500 for the first 50 $3750 after, you can't get a fully machined CGI anything for near that |

So very sorry to hear this Bill. I hope it's something where you will be back on your feet eventually. I had a big health setback in 2009 ..... It's rough ..... I'll never be the same but I made it out the other end. :) You do nice work, was looking forward to seeing the Mustang done. Hang in there Bill.

Re: Boss Mustang stocker
I don’t know how Dave Noll would have any insight here, but I can tell you that Bill has been all talk so far. He said he would get the parts this week. I have over a dozen texts from him February until yesterday that say he will meet with the block and remainder of the parts but he has not come through. I can only hope there was an ounce of truth in this weeks promise.....
