Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Used Mark several times. Nothing but the best from him. Hope to see your car out soon. BP

Yesterday was a good day!!!!
Took my old mans hauler project out for its maiden voyage. Dragged the car up to Epping Sunday afternoon for chassis cert. https://i.imgur.com/UQDcwl0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0RQQ3ZG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9AxIOBM.jpg |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
That car is just too nice to be a race car. Feel free to bring it by and in short order it will have belt buckle marks, chips and a general hazing of the paint on the tops of the front fenders from grease and oil!
Beautiful car! :) |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Awesome looking car.
Good Luck. |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
One of the nicest of the current one million ‘69 Camaros in Stock/Super Stock. Stunning and sinister for sure. Great job!
I like the trailer too. |

It’s funny, at one point my girlfriend referred to the car as my “side chick” so I suggested calling it mistress but it’s so played out......I was toying with Sinister 69 so you might have just made that official lol... I’ve always loved open trailers. My old man came home with this as a Christmas present, lol.... it needs some work but has potential. If I had my way id tow that bitch on a square body ramp truck!!!! |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
And I’d like to thank my buddy James Perone for tearing me apart and calling out the bad chrome on my original rear bumper and the rust on my rear rotors..... lmfao

Honestly I really didn’t wanna even post about it but I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and when I walked by the car taking the dog out got discussed again. They really look like ****! I could’ve posted it in the main section but decided just to have my rant here in my thread.. |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
On a better note..
Interior just about finished. Little wiring left on the racepak and it’s ready to fire off. https://i.imgur.com/2vGwaK5.jpg |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Alright, it’s time to get this Turd finished up....
Looks like I solved my tire clearance problems. Changed out the -1 spring for a +1 https://i.imgur.com/rrrZJQV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TpucW90.jpg I actually picked up 2 1/2” so I’m waiting for 1 more 1/2” lowering block.... It still won’t sit low as I’d like but it is what it is. It sure has been quite the journey!! When we started bench building the car we always talked about measuring for the drive shaft being the last big thing.... well https://i.imgur.com/o8Fx8k5.jpg |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Can the drive shaft bounce around on the bent tube under the shaft and contact the fuel line, if the u-joint fails? Did the car have a four link in it at one time. Nice looking build

That bar is actually part of the frame connectors. I’m sure it’s completely overboard but I set out to make the chassis stiff as possible. |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
What about making a rear driveshaft loop off of that bar?
Very nice build by the way sir. |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S

That’s not a terrible idea. There is another cross bar at the front of the frame connectors and the front driveshaft loop is built off of that. |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
I never thought about connecting the frames left to right. But there is a bunch of stuff that I’m not smart enough to think of. A cage got ours stiff. I may have to make something and see if it helps. Thanks for sharing

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Got the 2nd set of lowering blocks installed today. While I was down there I decided to check on the drive shaft vs fuel lines and thankfully this is close as it gets.
https://i.imgur.com/O4o62s5.jpg Here is a picture of frame connectors. I did get the ok from D1 tech on this. I still have mix feelings about it. It’s definitely overkill and way heavier than I expected. I do like how the drive shaft loop is part of it. Maybe down the road I’ll have one fabricated from CM to loose some weight. https://i.imgur.com/GfFhjmX.jpg |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Today I got the car on the scales....looks like I can make A... I’ve got some options to move weight around but what do you think??

Very nice build, I also cannot wait to see it run.

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
I have a chassis stiffener like yours on my '68 Mustang. Definitely tightens up the frame. Mine is from Total Control, a part of Chris Alston's ChassisWorks. Where did you get your unit?

Between work and trying to get my dragster back together I haven’t had a minute to even look at it. I was planning on going to Maple Grove for the divisional but with the threat of rain I plan on spending the time on it. Brake lines, little more wiring and a clutch pedal stop. The plan is to have it running and driving around by mid July. Hopefully get it to the track in August. |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Time to blow the dust off this thread…..for Barry Parker and everyone who has followed and gave advice on my build!!
Few weeks ago I decided it was time to get this car out. I set a goal of making the divisional at my home track the last week in August. My 1st issue was the tire deal. I know it’s not a ideal situation but I decided on the Hoosier 29x9. Big thanks to Keith Bennett for finding me a pair! Whoever said the last 10% takes 90% of time wasn’t joking but I’ve been picking on stuff the last few weeks and I’m starting to see progress. Last weekend I was able to flip the power switch for the 1st time. Earlier today I filled and bled the brakes. Tonight I ran a few gallons through the fuel system to flush the lines and check for leaks. Hopefully this weekend I can finally fire it off!!! Today makes 34 days till the track rental before the div. I’m gonna need every one of those days lol |
Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Well 1 step forward 3 steps back…
Was getting the car ready to fire off today. I decided to put some base in the clutch but ran into a problem with 3 of the 6 not adjusting. After pulling the clutch it turns out when they rebuilt it they had the bolts to tight in the adjuster so they were just spinning. I’ll spend the day tomorrow putting it back together. |
