Very specific underhood Castaldo pics here.

Below pic is a link to the entire article. Just click on any picture to blow it up to readable size. Did not want to take up too much space here.

This is one of my favorite internet threads. Has anyone contacted Kenny owner of East Hills Chrysler on Long Island New York.. His family had a Factory Hemi car as they owned a local dealer since wayyyy back, I believe it was wrecked playing in the streets around their shop I think I read. The parts manager there, Carl would be able to help w contact info as he is a dyed in the wool Mopar Die Hard.

daryl,,,,,,,,,,I'm still lurching

April 11, 1968 (Hayward, California)

Chrysler Performance announced that '9' Super Car Clinic Teams
will be parading dealerships with their new 1968 Hemi Super/Stock
Drag Race Cars.

* Sox & Martin
* Ed Miller
* Arlon Vanke

Have already started the clinics around their local areas.The initial buzz
is that these specially built 1968 Hemi Barracuda's are 6/10's of a second
quicker in the quarter-mile than the already dominant 1965 Super/Stock Plymouth and
Dodge cars campaigning now.

Sox & Martin have been performing their Super Car Clinics since January 1968, with their
new 1968 Plymouth 440 GTX, which runs at 116 MPH while campaigning in the NHRA
SS/F class.

The team also has a new 1968 426 Hemi Road Runner with a fiberglass front-end, that
runs in the AHRA S/S Experimental Class. The Road Runner is capable of reaching 134 MPH
in the Quarter-Mile, and with Elapsed Times of 10.60.

Re: Original hemi dart information

The latest issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines,, a "bonus issue" for subscribers, has a great article on a pair of '68 Hemi cars,,, the Jim Keyes Dart and the Keyes & Lewis Cuda. A couple of very nice cars. No history is provided on the Dart in the story prior to Keyes' acquisition,, but the Cuda is the former Centolanza Bros. car. The Dart is still dressed in '70s attire, and the Cuda is more contemporary and up to date.
This special issue should be on the stands soon and is worth checking out.

a990hemi, I've always liked John Friel's L023 '68 Hemi Dart as well, I still remember his old blue & white paint job on this car too, but I haven't seen or heard much of him in the past several years...does anyone here know him personally or talked with him lately, if so please fill us in.

Oh yeah ...the GM 12 bolt frees up some valuable friction but it's quite costly to purchase one that's been tricked out properly.

I asked which car is the Parrilo & Cerrone and they wouldn't say. I have the original paperwork from the Harris cars and the VIN's do not match so I would say that it is actually the Gaudreau car.

Re: Original hemi dart information

Here are some pictures I took while going to the Winternationals in Pomona. I grew up in La Verne, a small city just to the north of Pomona. I took alot of these pictures in 1984 and 1985 with my first camera I got when I was 17, so not the greatest quality.

I also didn't really know the history behind these cars at the time---all I knew is I loved watching these things go down the track, and it is these cars that got me into drag racing. I now drag race a 2006 Mustang GT with a 572 CID big block ford that turns 9.1Xs @ 149 on motor only. I would love to own a hemi dart or barracuda, but I would have to sell my house to own one.

Selling the house is always an option, but most wives aren't much impressed with that thought.
