Not sure if "new wave" was drowned out...Looks like 2 to 2 , to me, among posters.
I go by what's pleasing to my ears...Not the decade of the release.
One must remember that act like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and The Police were once called New Wave, and now?

I understand that Alan was playing Dexys Midnight Runners today , at Indy

One of the first concerts I had the opportunity to attend. Ian Anderson: Mom and Dad, I want to be a rock and roll star. Mom: No Ian, we want you to play a refined instrument like the flute. Ian: Anything you say Mom.

WPOD .......

https://youtu.be/XJDQFLLdZ_k?list=RDXJDQFLLdZ_k

Teenage, had a race for the nighttime
Spent my cash on every high I could find
Wasted time in every school in L.A
Gettin' loose, I didn't care what the kids say

We're white punks on dope
Mom and Dad moved to Hollywood
Hang myself when I get enough rope
Can't clean up, though I know I should

White punks on dope, white punks on dope
White punks on dope, white punks on dope

Other dudes are living in the ghetto
But born in Pacific Heights
Don't seem much betto

We're white punks on dope
Mom and Dad live in Hollywood
Hang myself when I get enough rope
I can't clean up, though I know I should

White punks on dope, white punks on dope
White punks on dope, white punks on dope

I go crazy cause my folks are so ****in' rich
Have to score when I get that rich white punk itch
Sounds real classy, living in a chateau
So lonely, all the other kids will never know

You mean like this Eddie? I have a ton of these old ticket stubs. The first one I can find is Elton Johns 1973 concert in St Johns Arena here in Columbus. The ticket was 3.50 ! That building was tore down eons ago ..

Not my favorite song by The Who ,but somebody mentioned suggestive lyrics.
I had to look for a live version, because the original can be heard every day, you know where, and Yac don't do no C/R

Two for Tuesday ... Lets see, its the Dog Days Of Summer. So lets do a couple Doggy Songs. Rock On !!

Aerosmith,,,,,
What a way to kick off a career: 1st album-Aerosmith, 2nd-Get Your Wings, 3rd- Toys in the Attic, 4th-Rocks. Although Wings is my favorite of theirs, was there another hard rock band that started so strong, save for the mighty Led Zeppelin?

Ok here goes, great thread,I like almost all genres & I.ll call it sub-genres of rock. everything from Abba to the Zulus . (Boston band in the 80's). I'm a computer dummy, don't know how to post a vidieo , and I read Jeff's instructions on an earlier post. Being from near Boston there was an amazing club scene 30/40 years ago,I can.t belive it's been that long, but you could go out to a nightclub literally any night of the week and see a local or national band. my co- workers got me into punk,it's all just rock& roll. I think todays youth is lacking some sort of rock, all they have is hip hop&rap.(IMO). Any way maybe Jeff can post for me Minor Threat (artist) I don,t want to hear it (title). It will get your blood flowin' DC had a pretty big hardcore scene back in the day Might need lyrics w/vidieo & we'll aimit at CNN.

Welcome aboard, Tom

Not gonna tell you it's easy to post here ..I remember those days too.

Here's what I would do.
Go here first and save this page:

https://www.youtube.com/feed/trending

Search for your song /open it / copy the URL address of the song, at the top of the page.
Open a new page for Class Racer , open this thread , open a reply, paste the URL
anywhere on your reply..That's it..The server here takes over from there.

Good Luck ..Eddie would like to hear some cuts from The Boston Tea Party, late 60's
;-)
