The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
The Southern Stock/Super Stock Association is excited to announce our next in a series of combo races! This race will be a special two race event at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds GA. Saturday night and Sunday day! That's right, two races, one weekend! The dates are Saturday July 26, gates open at 1pm. and Sunday July 27, gates open at 10am. There will be 100% payback, paying at least 8 places. Our races are open to all NHRA and IHRA Stock and Super Stock Classes! Also all Nostalgia Stockers. The more cars, the more you will win. Our last race at Lakeland Motorsports Park was a huge success. This race should be even more fun. Our association was formed to bring back the fun that racing used to be. Our first race proved that possible. Come join us and see how much fun you can have racing! For directions, see the link below. Questions? Contact Jim Woods or me at the email addresses below. Jim

Ok !!!!!

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
I guess it gives me time to save for gas money but I would be ready the end of this month. I broke 2 teeth off the flywheel before Lakeland and the last run I made more broke and it was the last time it would start. We had to push it in the trailer. I got a new starter and the flexplate came in today.

Sounds great I will be there, its going to be hot but if its as much fun as others have said I can take the heat! What is the entry fee going to be? Trevor Weiss A/S 2891
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
trevor, it was voted on at the meeting that all entry fees will be $50.00 for each race .the only way any rules can change is by the popular vote of the members . look forward to seeing you @ reynolds

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Jim,
Will the track be charging $15.00 and $50.00 for a tech card like Lakekand? |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Rusty, Reynolds has said they would charge $10 a head. That's still cheaper than Lakeland. So it will be a total of $60 for car and driver. Jim

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Just reserved my room. Single King $79.09 Comfort Inn exit 136, which is the exit the track said to get off of if coming North on I-75.

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
:confused:Jim, will this be run on 1/4 mile?
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Good question Woodro. If it's 1/8th, no thanks... if it's 1/4, I think I'll put it on the calendar.
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
It's 1/4 and at the drivers meeting I'd like to discuss a possible Top Stock and Jr. Stock for future races. Basically 8 lb and 11 lb class like Div. 1 just to see if anyone would be interested in some heads up during the regular qualifying for the eliminator. 100% payback like the eliminator. Tina has been getting slammed with emails concerning becoming members and if you plan on attending Silver Dollar she can take care of you there. Can't wait
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Yes, It is 1/4 mile. Jim
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Looking forward to it. Drinking plenty of water to get ready for the heat!

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
What does the schedule look like for Saturday and Sunday?
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
saturday night race and sunday day race.time runs at 3pm on sat and sunday around 11
|
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Saturday the 26th gates open at 1pm. Three time runs then eliminations. Sunday gates open at 10am. Three time runs then eliminations. Cars will be laddered as usual from the first round. This is a combo race, Stock and Super Stock will all run. $10 to the track per person, then $50 into the Association at Tech, with a 100% payback. We encourage you to join the Association ($20 per year). This will include a newsletter and membership card. Tina Summerton (Sec/Treas.) can sign you up at the track if you like. We have voted to use IHRA classes and indexes since there are more classes for everyone to fit in. You can claim IHRA or NHRA HP factors, which ever one is lower. Come legal and ready to have fun! Jim

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
I am looking forward to this. It's a great track, and I am also looking forward to putting a few faces to names too. If you've never been there before, Ed and Dorothy will likely greet you soon after coming in, and I know you will enjoy racing there.
Make sure you bring some lighting , if you don't have any on your trailer. It can get pretty dark there, in pits. Track lighting is good, just pits can be a little dark. $50 and $25 bonus's for winner and runner up, from my company, Rogers Electric ,for this race also.... Just to help this grow. |
Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Thanks Kenny, and thanks for the bonus! Please post your companies name for us. See you there. Jim

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
What about any major company's doing sponsorship?
What about the association fee's? what are they going towards where will the next race be at after reynolds? When are we going to start earning points? are the min weight the same in NHRA/IHRA ? is there a copy of minutes from the formation of this association so everyone that was not at the 1st race can see what was all voted on. Is there a web site for the association yet? |
