There may not be a Wally or Ironman awaiting you, but there will be the cool "Big Plastic Checks"!

I'll be running both S/SS and No-Box. Looking forward to it. Thanks to Britt Cummings for teaming up with Gaylon Rolison on the event. He's the main reason we have a big money S/SS race to run for in the first place! Let's show some support!

Britt and I are really excited about the new S/SS race at this year's event. Britt has been working his tail off to let all the S/SS racers he can about the 2010 Moser Engineering GABR. We want everyone S/SS racer around at the this year's event.

Take Care,
Gaylon

The FI classes are all full-pound breaks except AA.

D/FIA is 11.00 to 11.99 lb, on a 12.20 index

Thanks for posting the bonus money!

Thanks for the support guys. Tell every S/SS racer you know about this race because this could lead to the great things for the S/SS racers at the GABR. I am really excited about next weekend. We are fielding literally 20-30 calls per day about the event.

Due to my unfortunate auto accident in May, I will not be able to make the event. I have more tests, physical therapy, and doctor visits next week in Alabama where the experts will try and figure out how to cure nerve damage on my left side.

I suffered a severe brain concussion from a rear-end collission on I-10 that has left me struggling with my short-term memory. Hopefully, I will be in better shape for the Lucas Oil event in Spetember.

Well I'll be there doing pics and racing in no box. The ol' Grand Cherokee needs to go one round further than last year. Hope to see everybody out there, and having fun. There will be some good food, good times passed, and lots of great passes im sure. I'll be there Thursday at noon for parking.

Gaylon, let me know if you need help with anything during the week.

Greg: Pat borrowed $1000,00 from me too. I hope he remembers to pay us back. You know it sure is a shame how some people forget they owe money. It comes with old age...

Re: Belle Rose next week

What age? I'm gonna sneak in and park early. I'm going to No 1 on the first pass. Kevin might have a surprise vehicle in Stock. Should be good.

Looks like a BIG storm brewing and headed for the gulf....:-(
It might be there by the weekend.........

gaylonrolison 07-20-2010 09:00 PM

Re: Belle Rose next week

It is an, and quoted from weather.com "area of interest" in the western Atlantic Ocean" There areas of interest everyday in the tropics. So I think a "big storm brewing" is a little premature. I live off the Gulf Coast 10 miles from the beach and we get afternoon thunderstorms that are worse than some of the subtropical weather.

Gaylon

Re: Belle Rose next week

another quote from weather.com

Prognosis for development
There is an upper-level trough to the west and northwest of this tropical wave. Associated with this trough are two ingredients that are typically harmful to tropical cyclone development:

  • Wind shear: In this case, west to southwest winds aloft are present to the north of Hispanola, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Given near-surface winds have an easterly component, this wind shear tends to displace thunderstorms away from any low-level circulation. For tropical cyclogenesis, you want thunderstorms concentrated near an area of surface low pressure.
  • Dry air: You can see this tongue of dry air in the water-vapor satellite image below as a brown-shaded patch over the Bahamas, just east of Miami.

Thanks Slate. We want some feedback from you S/SS racers so we can make the 2011 Great American Race a better one.
