I have been very happy recently with NGK. We use to run champion, autolight and accells.

Re: spark plugs

Autolite pays !, so they're still # 1 on my list. .......NGK,s are really good too,but some racers I know had some problems with the ground electrode coming off, but so did Autolite a few years ago. ....I'd use what has been working for you ,and what pays. ......Tom

Wow! Only $12.50 + $9.00 shipping EACH! ($172 for a V8) How many cases do you want? Jim

The Brisks are really **** plugs, thanks to Art Leong for turning me on to them, I became a "dealer" so I could buy at like 6.50 ea instead of 13, if anyone wants Brisk Plugs lemme know, Ill sell em at cost plus 10.....

Re: spark plugs

I sell most brands as I get surplus plugs from the cup teams and Autolites are the most popular and the racing plug is made in the good old USA enough said !

I doubt that they charge that much for shipping but, I have yet to find out...That's why I asked Chris "money bags" to try them... ;)
What I like about them is the symmetry of the electrode...
Wait..I call them right now and find out....hold for response..

Re: spark plugs

Ok, I talked to Daniel and he said shipping was $9.00 flat..They are here in inglewood California... I hope that clears it up..I also asked if he can give me a comparable heat range to a specific NGK spark plug...cold baby...real cold! So anywho...

Re: spark plugs

I use the Brisk plugs and have had no problems with them. They seem to work great.
Even after forget to connect the map sensor and sooting them up real bad.

Re: spark plugs

The Brisk look a lot like the Torquemasters..I'm impressed

And the real dyno reports and ET improvements are.....?

In out case Jeff, well.....they are the only plugs that they make for the heads that come in 1,2, 3, 4 and 6 colder than stock :) And in both retracted and projected tip.

The retracted I believe Art may have seen a difference in, we dont have an established enough baseline.

But our only other REAL choices are NGK Iridium (expensive and delicate) or 1 other I can remeber in the heat range we need to keep from predeting to hell and back.

Re: spark plugs

"predeting to hell and back"

I know about pre-ignition
I know about detonation
I know about running on/dieseling or "Hangfire" as one of my customers used to call it in my garage days....

But..... predeting to hell and back is new to me......

S/G and S/C cars never have that problem anyway, whatever it is.....

Re: spark plugs

Rich/and others-- predeting is a quite common occurence in the "rice burners" and others high performance engines-- It can cause major problems if not corrected in time- you absolutely must pevent predeting or you can have catastrophic engine damage---Comp 387

Im assuming you know what I meant, take a stock DP engine and try to run it with the plugs that are in it (oe stock) at 12.5 : 1 and youll soon find out, NGK only makes a 1 step colder than 6.1 stock.

Brisk because of demand on the SRT4's running high boost came out with a whole line, and because of the Hemi cast in plug tubes you have little choice if you want a plug that actually fits.

Pre-Ignition, Pre-Detonation, Detonation, Knock, Ping.....whatever....all semantics....

Is it related to "Predetinating"...the Redneck word equivalency for "Predetonation"?
...or related to the word predator or predate? :)

I thought it was something about "predator" as in "a hunter". "He was hunting to hell and back"

OHH so it's kind of like reverse Hangfire........Motor goes fraff-fraff-Run-No More......!!!!

I am still trying to understand points myself......it just escapes me how something pointy can make a spark.....

Or the Cajun term "pre dat" meaning "before that". Jim

Re: Predeting spark plugs

I'm trying to learn a new word today, too.
I found this usage in the cross dresser's forum, but I don't think it's the same meaning:

" I'm totally for fitting in.

Even standing out can be done in a couple of ways. There's a tasteful way, and there's a questionably tasteful way.
Most school girls and, to my belief, a good part of the crossdressers that want to stand out, pick the distasteful and shrill way. Then again, I'm not predeting that I've seen them all. Just my 2 cents...

Jesus...this thread got out of control, I hope its not because people have the misinterpretation of Chris...

Anywho to get back to the subject...or as I say let me digress...

Here is a good link for heat range explanation

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/tech_su...k_plugs/p2.asp

Happy horsepower making. ;)

Re: spark plugs

I run the Brisk plugs because of the heat range, and the fact they have a non extended tip plug with a 1 inch threaded area. If I use an entended plug I have the index the plugs or the plugs hit the pistons.

Re: spark plugs

I learned a new word today too....

Lackapower......

Yea thats what you have when some truckdriver rips the servcie cable in half that feeds your house.......

and no one seems to know a thing or saw it happen...

live cable still connected to the pole across the street and me-Casa is mort...

Thanks to the trusty men who work for Jersey Central Power and Light, I have electrons flowing my way again........and a complete new service drop going in tomorrow.......enough money to buy some good heads for my dragster including spark plugs....!!!

P,S, I really do know how points work but I am not going anywhere near any crossdressers.....

I will leave you to your spark plugs.........
