4th Annual Coastal Plains Racers' Reunion
 

For any of you "class racers" who ran here in the good ole days. We will be having the 4th annual racers' reunion.

When: Saturday, Jan 21st
Where: A C E bldg (Antique Cars & Engines)
3531 New Bern Hwy (Hwy 17N)
Jacksonville, NC 28546
Time : 1 pm

Come out and have a great time "bench racing" with such likes as Garley & Randy Daniels, Harold Denton, Roy Hill, Herb McCandless Sr. & Jr, Bud Rowe & family, Charley Taylor, and Bobby Warren along with his family.

This year we are also expecting Steve Earwood, Bob Kaiser, and a "Hall of Famer."

Come join us for a great time of fellowship and food.

If any of you can make this it is a great time and good food.
Last year Troy Humphry cranked some og the old engines in the museum..Lots of old pics and stories going on...So many LEGENDS at this gathering that you will not be sorry....
I will be there Doyle with at least 4 head....

Doyle, thanks for the information, myself and two more will be there. I look forward to this, I have not had a chance to go in the past. Our numbers, old racers, grow fewer every year and always look forward to these reunions every year. I saw Bobby Brown a couple of week-ends ago and he was interested in attending.

Also if you have any news clippings or pics from KDS , Coastal Plaines , New Bern Motorsports , Holly Ridge , old Dunn-Benson , and maybe Easy Street....please bring them and donate them to the museum if you can..
I donated an IHRA tech Official uniform last year along with a large trophy i won back in the 80's (but i kept the $2500.00...lol )

We ( 5 of us) will be there. I am going to bring my lap top with the photo cd, North Carolina Drag Racing 60's & 70's, that I take to the Drag Time Reunion every year. There are photos from around NC in those years. I have never attended this and looking forward to it. I have met up with some old racer friends at some car shows in recent months and I know some that are coming to this that I do see every year at reunions and nostalgia races.

Saw a few at a car show New Years day and we had some good conversation about "the old days" and the "way racing was".

First class event. standing room only. good stories. good food. Troy has some great stuff in his antique car palace. thanks to all that put this on this was the best one that i have been to,herb jr is right u better get those old stories before its to late again thanks from Leon and Mickey.

This was my first time to this Reunion and a big thank-you to everyone involved in putting on this event. Got to see some folks here that I have not seen in over 35 years. Any time you get to attend an event like this it is good. We have so many of our racing friends who pass away each year you just don't know who might not be with us at the next reunion. It is always good to see the young folks come out to these type events, even if their memories are of the days they spent playing together around in the pits and re-newing old friendships from what we know as the "good ole days." Again, thank-you Ronnie, Troy, Doyle and everyone involved.

Thanks to the Humphrey Family and Doyle for a great reunion. Thanks everyone for taking the time to congratulate dad on getting into the Hall of Fame, and to Mr. Ronnie and Doyle for announcing it at the reunion. I heard some great stories of my grandpa Earl racing his 62 Impalas and 409 chevy cars from back in the day. Also heard some great stories about my dad and his racing career. Hope to go to a couple more races this year, and hope to see all of our friends there....
