I am happy to announce that Tabitha Draughon will be teaming up with me for 2012 CCRA race season. She has alot of fresh ideas and between the two of us, we hope to make it the best CCRA race season ever.
We will have our awards presentation for the 2011 Top Ten in points at the first race of the year, which will be March 4th at Piedmont Dragway.
Tabitha and myself have completed the schedule for the 2012 season and have the dates set with tracks.
Here Is the 2012 CCRA Schedule:

March 4 ----------- Piedmont Dragway

April 1 ------------- Fayetteville Motorsports Park

May 12 ------------ Coastal Plains Dragway

September 8 ------ Piedmont Dragway

October 27 -------- Darlington Dragway

October 28 -------- Fayetteville Motorsports Park

November 11 ----- Piedmont Dragway

November 18 ----- Fayetteville Motorsports Park

For those of you that aren't familiar with who I am, I'm the wife of Super Stock racer Robbie Draughon & I also own Redline Speed Shop in Fayetteville, NC. I would like to thank Scott Tilley for giving me the opportunity to help with the CCRA in 2012 & hopefully grow it into an organization that all the racers can be proud to be a part of. Like Scott mentioned earlier, we have lots of new ideas for this year & are hoping that 2012 will be the best year yet. I have sent out sponsorship letters looking for 8 title sponsors for the 2012 season. Each sponsor will pay $400 each which will go directly into the year end points fund. Our plans are to pay a minimum of $2000 for the overall points champion & pay back 4 places. If anyone is interested in any monetary sponsorship, please email me at TLM052696@aol.com or call me at (910) 591-6188 as anything would be greatly appreciated.

I'll let Scott correct me if I'm wrong but I think we have lost our trophy/plaque sponsorship for the 2012 season so that is also available.

As of today, I have recieved 4 title sponsors. I would like to Welcome Warren Engines, Phillips Auto Body, Currie's Towing & Racing, & Auto-Plus Service Center as 2012 CCRA sponsors.

That is correct, we are currently looking for a trophy sponsor(s). It's great news that we already have $1600.00 in the points fund for the 2012 season. Thanks to all who have signed up to be sponsor this year. We still need 4 more race sponsors. This race season is already shaping up to be the best ever!!! We need everyone's support in joining the CCRA as a member and racing with us in 2012. Last year we had 31 members but had 84 racers race with us. Just imagine what kind of points program we can have if everyone becomes a member. .

Hey Joe, I'll have to look at the invoice I have at home. I believe it was around $675.00 for the event trophies, Championship trophies and 2nd -
10th in points plaques.

We really hope to get more participation in the points fund this year, especially since we will be paying more than what you can win by winning an IHRA divisional title.

Also remember, the more cars we have the larger the pay out and pay back more places.

Just as an example:
50 cars x $75.00 entry = $3750.00
Winner ------ $2205.00
R/UP -------- $945.00
Semi's ----- $150.00
Qtr's --------- $100.00

Thats a really good payout!!!!

I would like to thank Homer Carty from Homer's Custom Paint & Body for sponsoring the Best Losing Package for 1st round at each CCRA race for the 2012 season. The winner will receive $50. More great news today!!! Thanks to Jim Reynolds of Ace Rug Cleaning and Ultimate Convertor Concepts for sponsoring the CCRA points fund. We now have a total of 6 sponsors for our 2012 points fund. You're right Scott, this is good news & it just means that the 2012 CCRA racing season is going to be GREAT!!! I still have the May 12th race @ Coastal Plains Dragway & the November 11th race @ Piedmont Dragway open for a title sponsor. On behalf of the CCRA, Scott Tilley, & myself, I would like to Welcome Aboard Speed Pro Fuels--Sunoco out of Fayetteville NC as the title sponsor for the November 11th race at Piedmont. It is owned by Division 9 Top Sportsman racer Charlie Gilbert.

With that being said, all 8 of our races now have title sponsors. For the 2012 season, the winner will receive a minimum of $2000 cash plus a free set of Hoosier Racing Tires on behalf of my business, Redline Speed Shop. I hope that there is more to award to the winner but only time will tell!!! We will also be paying back 4 places as well as top 10 will receive a plaque. March 4th is right around the corner so everyone get ready for Piedmont. CCRA membership is $25.

What is the daily time schedule for March 4th at Piedmont?

Gate opening , TT & rd 1, ect.

1st time run 1:00 pm
2nd run 2:00 pm (Dash for Cash)
Race starts at 2:45 pm

No the time will be different for several of the events, really depends on track & what all they have going on that particular race day. Also some races are on Saturdays & others on Sunday. Always stayed tuned here for times for each event.

News flash--just received a certificate on behalf of Brodix Cylinder Heads for the 2012 CCRA champion. It reads "This certificate is valid for the purchase of either (1) STS T-1 233, (1) STS-1 227, or (1) STS T-1 215 complete at a cost of $1800.00, or (1) Track 1 heads complete with titanium retainers at a cost of $1200.00". The expiration date for this certificate is November 1, 2013. I also pocket guides for the racers so make sure to get those at the next race. Please help me welcome Brodix on board for our 2012 CCRA racing season!!!
