RMRE tribute car

This was the doner car to the Spyphish so we are going to finish it as well. 25.4 Holt chassis etc

What class and combo are you going to run?

It will be another AH car if need be. I can't drive two at the same time so current mockup has it as an NSS Hemi car. Perfect body, just too nice not to finish. May look for a partner if we run good at Indy and the Hemi head rule is stabilized. I will post paint scheme when I shrink the file.

Cool idea,, and the concept looks great. But I've got to admit, as an 'ol fart, that paint scheme and lettering takes a little getting used to on a Cuda,, when you remember it being on Monzas and '80s style Camaros. Good luck with your project.

Well here it goes to paint. Once again I am "blowing my whistle before I have air in it". Just stirring the pot a little.

I was at the Reher-Morrison engine school a year and a half ago.Seen Hemi stuff there amongst all the Chevrolets, kinda looked out of place. But there seemed to be excitement about the Super Stock program. That paint scheme is "legendary", I'll admit it even looks good on a 'Cuda. Can't wait to see it complete. (just want to say ... "elephant wearing a bowtie") MB

Mayhem in the AM! Tin work in. John and Ben Holt did a great job on this car. Everything fits nice. Just waiting on a few parts and we will be burning gas.

And just think you were contemplating a Copo Camaro until you found out how good your car was running with legit heads. HA ! Great new build. The blue car is fantastic also. That one picture has a dart on the lift. Is that what I think it is ?

Re: RMRE tribute car

Good eye. LO23 Dart # 50 of the Feb. 18th first 56 built. Stick car MAYBE the sole Dependable Dodge, Fla. order as the car came from Fla. in the 80's. You may see it at Indy in Mopar's booth???

Stephen, New car build looks fantastic . What is with the single 4 bbl. Are you going to run it like that in NSS ? Time is winding down for the Indy Choot-out. Looking forward to seeing some great runs in the competition from the Spyphish. I know you are really busy getting ready so have a safe trip and best of luck racing and enjoy every minute of it.------John

I said I was done for a while but could not pass this one up. An elf in the shop this morning, famous SST racer Boyd wiring the RMRE car with a Warfish shirt. Now that's cool!!! It has to be FAST.

John, single carb as this driveline was in the old Pancake Deathwish Cuda running in bracket races. The car can convert to NHRA AH since we are using Phish as the pattern.

If anyone is at Indy, stop by. Stephen

Was wondering who's radiator is that, I'm getting ready to order one for my car.
Thanks
Bob

Spyphish 08-23-2013 09:16 AM

Re: RMRE tribute car

Large radiator from Be Cool with twin fans for street or bracket setup. If car moves to SS/AH will get a much smaller lighter setup. Good luck...

Rainout out Dallas so we stayed home and worked on car. The bottom is done. Interior all done except dash. Maybe by the weekend a rolling shot.

The car looks great. I see some really nice tricks for builds. But, Is a rack and pinion legal for a AH car? I know you are running brackets with this car. Just wondering. Thanks. By the way what is the Pancake Deathblow cuda?

R&P coil overs NOT legal for AH as well as some other pieces on this car. It could be AH in short order if need be. This is the motor & tranny from the Death Wish car and will run NSS and IHRA top doorslammer in BR. Momma took the Death Wish car from me ( 160 on a floater was stupid on my part) and it has been upgraded using the Phish as a example by its local new owner Dalton Mouton. Floater gone. It will also run local IHRA stuff.

The RMRE car was a long time race car of Sean Dorrien out of Ohio who had started an AH conversion. Holt used it as a doner and as time has allowed, we have gathered up the required parts to finish it. My plan is to bring it to the Dutch. Holt will be doing a trick K member for it to resolve pan issues before we race it. Thanks

You know. Just a few things needed to finish! The boxes say it all.

We are done. Thanks to BA Rodz & Customs (Vinni) for the body work, Holt for the chassis, Eric Guilliot for paint, Michael Barton for design, Speed & Sport chrome and the Mosses & Moutons for assembly. AND of course RMRE. Dutch Double Trouble
