1964 Savoy Aluminum SS build

I have started my build of my original 1964 Plymouth Savoy Aluminum car, I will be doing all the build myself with help from My wife, kids and some close friends. This should be a fun journey as my target is to race it next year as me and both my Max Wedges will be 50 years old. I have started by repairing some of the body modifications done to run it as a 4 speed and fender well headers. So far the Trans tunnel is repaired as well as the inner fenders and I am about 40% done fabricating the cage.

I have tried to attach some photos I am not sure if the will work.

Hey Bob

Things a Dad will do for his kids!! I told Carla and the kids I would get some ribbing. It should make a great car for the girls. We are going to try and make it to the divisionals hopefully see you and Charlene there.

These are some photos of the the car as i got it, not race ready. It has a steel nose and I was lucky enough to locate the Aluminum components that were missing.

I hear you Mark unfortunately I am sure I wouldn't pass tech with the inner fenders cut out that much, as well some of the cutting was a little rough.

Hi Ron

I have completed the cage and backhalf And the cage is now certified. I have the new Headers from Mark at Performance Welding, one of the few items that I won't be building myself and boy do they look awesome! I have my new pistons, rods, crank and I am starting to machine the block as we speak.

It has been real cold near -40 for about a week so being in the shop working on the car in my spare time has been awesome.

How have you been making out with your Wedge?

Well found # 5 cylinder to be scored , so have eng apart . Also figured cam with a 112 degree lobe seperation wont work. So just pushing ahead.
P.s. Looking for a 50 mm cam for a b or rb mopar engine:(

Hi Bob

I have been working at machining the engine as well as fabricating the intake. This has taken a ton of time, the engine is ready to assemble and I have to Finnish the intake then it Dyno time. The engine has been a real challenge due to It being a Max Wedge. Right now I am waiting to move forward with the body until I get more time (work is getting in the way of fun). I have photos but haven't had the time to resize them to post.
