Mega 450 Wiring Help
Greetings all
I have a Mega 450 box & need to wire it into my car, the car was previously a manual with a Digital 7 & Koni Electronic shock control box I don't want to tear any of the wiring out of the car as we will go back to a manual & will need the switch on the gas pedal & also the switch on the clutch pedal I have drawn the complete wiring diagram that's in the car in Microsoft Publisher, if somebody has publisher & can help I am happy to email them the wiring diagram regards Rod |

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
Do you have the manual for the Mega 450. You can download it from Digital Delay (see link below). This should help.

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
thanks Clark, email sent
Ricki, my concern is to were to wire the box into the car, I have Penski rear shocks with the Koni controller & want to make sure that they work in Burnout mode & also Race mode I don't believe we will need the bump up & bump down buttons so I am notcncerned with them we don't have a start line enhancer just a plate style under carb stop the issue's that I am up against is this car was originally a manual with the switches on the Gas & Clutch pedals to trigger the shock controller & I don't want to remove any wiring as we will put the car back to manual eventually regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
If I understand you correctly, car was a manual and now an automatic and you need to control your electric shocks. I have Koni electric shocks with an on/ off switch by shifter as well as a micro switch on tranny linkage. The micro switch starts the timer after the 1-2 shift and the on/off switch is too reset timer after burnout or leave them off til after burnout. Really don't need the Mega involved.

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
thanks for the reply Gary
yes I have the Koni controller in the car to control the shocks & a switch above me to switch from Burnout mode to Race mode they will need to be controlled to trigger in conjunction with the Transbrake release the Mega 450 will also control the throttle stop regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
You won't be able to control the shocks with the transbrake button if you want to be within the rules. The rule is pretty clear in that there must be only one continuous wire from the transbrake output to the transbrake solenoid with no splices.
Does it have to be triggered on transbrake release or transbrake button release? |

Rod - here is the link to the PDF. This folder on Dropbox should be "shared" so everyone can see it.

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
This is as far as I have got so far, I just don't know what wires to connect to where on the other terminals
I am hopping that somebody can look at my wiring diagram that Clark ( cad ) posted earlier & tell me were I need to tap into Starting from the top of the mega 450 box +12VDC: connect to main power supply terminal Trans: ...??? SFO: ...??? T.Stop:connect to throttle stop solonide Shift: connect to shift solinoide GND: Connect to main earth point on chassis PB 1: ...??? PB 2: ...??? Tap PB : ...??? L L PB : ...??? Tach : connect to Grey on MSD Ignition I have a pro brake in this car so I will need to push the Transbrake button to select reverse |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
+12VDC: connect to main power supply terminal
Trans: Goes to trans brake solenoid. SFO: This is a a multi function programmable terminal. Can be used for starting line enhancer or some other use like line lock. See the manual. T.Stop:connect to throttle stop solonide Shift: connect to shift solinoide GND: Connect to main earth point on chassis PB 1: Goes to the button that you will use to engage the trans brake. PB 2: Probably don't need this one. Tap PB : Allows you to use a button to take time out or put time into the delay or throttle stop during the run (advanced feature). L L PB : Connect to the line lock button if you plan to use the line lock output of the box (one of the SFO functions). This is also used to arm the data log function of the box even if you don't plan to use the line lock output. Tach : connect to Grey on MSD Ignition NOTE: It may be illegal to have the tach wire connected to this box. You may not have such a rule. Yes you will have to push the trans brake button to engage reverse. Or you can have a separate button for that if you wish. |

thanks for the input guys, much appreciated I am concerned about connecting the Line Loc to the delay box as I am concerned about its operation when I push the Transbrake Button when I select reverse, if my foot is on the brake & I select reverse then push the trans brake button will it lock the front brakes on ??? here is a much similar drawing https://dl.dropboxusercontent....0Wiring%20Layout.pdf I believe I have it all correct, only need to confirm the shock trigger wire ( relay or not ) I have deleted all the other wiring from the drawing & included the delay box |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
The line lock doesn't activate when you press the trans brake push button. It only activates when you push the line lock button. BTW. All this info is in the manual.

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
Thanks Ricki
Wiring is not my strong point Regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
do you guys run a switch in the main power supply wire running to the Mega 450 box or wire it to the main power supply & let the Master Disconnect switch shut the box down
is there any advantage to run a seperate switch to shut the Delay Box down with the engine running ect to re-set the box regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
I like to have the delay box on its own switch so that I can reset it if need be. I have inadvertently triggered the trans brake switch after the burnout and needed to reset the box.
Also I have had situations where I triggered and released the trans brake switch on the line after the starter halted racing for cleanup or something. I was able to reset the box easily to make sure everything was set. |

am I right in thinking that if I put a switch in the main power feed to the Mega 450, if I hit the transbake & release it to early I can just flick the main power off & back on & the box will still retain all its setting to the Throttle Stop regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
That's correct.

Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
Ricki
just finishing this wiring off now on the SFO output of the box were I need to run the activator wire for the shoc controller do I attach the wire for the Line Loc there as well regards Rod |
Re: Mega 450 Wiring Help
The SFO can only be used for one function. You program what function you want it to be and that's it. If you wire both things to it they will both be activated at the same time. If you are going to used it for the shock controller just wire your line lock separately not through the mega 450.
