Wet plugs on one side....

Wet with fuel, dry on the other bank. Idles fine just making no heat on the one side.

Stocker with dual plane manifold.

Any ideas?

This is just being ran in the shop, not after making a pass.

Re: Wet plugs on one side....

I had a bad MSD 7AL2 that caused something similar. I tried 2 carbs, plugs, a set of wires before I stumbled on to it.

I've had something plug up the idle circuit and do something like that on a small block ford.

Shouldn't affect just one head with a dual plane intake.

What kind of distributor does it have in it?

Not too much else that could cause this.
Ignition would have to drop every third, then every second cylinder, etc, consistently.

I'd replace the ignition box and coil. especially if it is a MDS 6 anything.

does it have a crank scraper? What side of the engine is it again?

Todd is thinking what I am thinking. If the rings are not controlling the oil it will foul one side more than the other.

Bob, I was thinking similar about oil except in the intake fit. Angle wrong and the bottom open to the valley or the end pads holding it up when tightened down or some brute tightened all of one side before he did the other.

Re: Wet plugs on one side....

Thanks guys!

He still hasn't found the problem yet.

He's trying a new intake gasket next.

This motor has ran before. He took intake off to do a cam swap. Had a vacuum leak at intake so replaced that. Now it idles but has the current problem.

Ignition is a 6 not sure which one.

Car was started and ran intially without the MSD ground hooked up. Hooked it back up and no difference.

Maybe with ground not hooked up it did something to the box?

Also this is the 1st time he's used this brand of intake gaskets.

Re: Wet plugs on one side....

A good ground is often overlooked and will mess up anything electronic, but I can't see it affecting only one side of the engine.
