Bob,
New race, first round was never started.
Two time trials.
There is a show the night before, getting in to camp overnight will be a problem. Plan on Walmart or the parking lot, or paying the gate fee for the show.

Re: Race 5 Rained out

my opinion is if there's a ladder. the field should be set. it doesn't seems fair to those who stuck it out, knowing the weather looked real bad.

It was CLEARLY indicated at the Drivers meeting on Saturday that the rule in which THE BOARD decided to have 1 time trial on a Sunday race of a 2-day event was to have 1-time shot & go into eliminations.

Mark Markow & Bob Don are absolutly correct!

The ladder is set!

Re: Race 5 Rained out

Greg it's kind of funny that all the board members were there at that meeting Saturday but why does the only board member that was strip of his powers, is only one that knows that the ladder should be set for the make- up race on 8/10/14. Elroy Dame

Re: Race 5 Rained out

The whole idea of this assoc. was to promote class racing. The rule is right but most of you were there any ways. If you go by the rule maybe cars will not come back. This would be three times in a 4 week period for me.I don't care just one more thing that is taking the fun out of allstar racing its getting to be a mini nhra

Bob Vogel 07-28-2014 07:30 PM

Re: Race 5 Rained out

I was wrong in believing your information about the rules, take a minute and look at the ASRA policies on OUR website

3.) If a race is rained out and the first pair of cars has completed the first round, the ladder is considered locked. There is to be no changing of class and/or car from what was originally entered. When the race is continued, we revert back to the original ladder.

nothing about just completing time trials. According to George Mirza the round was never started.

Re: Race 5 Rained out

I stopped at a friends shop on the way home and asked why they all went to Atco they all said the same thing Dave Ley's races are more fun and you can run for full money without being a member. Most racers don't care about running for points because they can't or don't care to make all the races. From what I have learned ASRA is the only group that makes you join to run for full money. I really think ASRA is too hardcore in how they approach this, DON'T GET ME WRONG I love racing ASRA but I think they are driving racers away and will not grow and will lose members. The racers I was talking to were former members,Take this for what it's worth. Lee.

Guys I wasn't there, was the first round started? I understood it wasn't. If the first pair ran rule 3 comes into play, if not we start over and it's open to new entries.
Thanks Bob for taking the time to look and the support.
George

ASRA rules differ from NHRA rules,
George is correct,

Re: Race 5 Rained out

Very nice post Lee Valentine I agree with your statements I feel the same way and your friends are no doubt having more fun at Dave Ley's group, but the ASRA could do it the same way , but I do not see that ever happing, to many closed minds, but thanks for your post I enjoyed it Elroy Dame

If no info yet, Would the BOD check with NED management to determine if the our Rain Check/Ticket for Driver and Crew Chief can be used for Race # 6 @ NED if we can't make it back for Race # 5 rescheduled for Sunday Aug 10th.
