Kil Kare Stock Super/Stock Combo Aug. 16-17
 

Kil Kare Raceway Xenia (Dayton), Ohio will once again feature its Stock, Super Stock Combo Race in conjunction with their 6th annual Gathering of the Geezers event.

As a result of continued growth, this years event has been expanded to two days.
The combo eliminator is open to all years & classes of NHRA, IHRA & Nostalgia Stock & Super Stock cars. Entry is ONLY $20 with $1,000 & a trophy going to the winner, $500 R/U, $200 semis, & $100 quarters.

This years two day format differs from the previous event format in that Saturday 8/16 will feature Stock/ Super Stock time run sessions with Sunday 8/17 featuring Stock/ Super Stock eliminations. (No combo eliminations on Saturday & no time runs on Sunday).

Gates & tech open at 10:00am each day with the first Stock/ Super Stock time session scheduled for 2:00pm Sat. Stock/ Super Stock First round is scheduled for 11:00am Sun.

This event is a great chance to get out & do some racing on a good track in front of enthusiastic spectators while getting in some testing & seat time before B/G & Indy.

At this event all Stock & Super Stock entrants will be parked together in Kil Kare's prefered pit area which includes concrete pads & electric hook ups.
In addition to the combo race this event includes a judged car show that annualy draws several hundred cars, drag racing in several classes including street rods, muscle cars, nostalgia dragsters, alterds, gassers & more. This years event Grand Marshall is Eileen Daniels.

Saturday evening will focus on the induction ceremony of Kil Kare Dragway Hall of Fames class of 2014 which includes fellow Super Stock & Comp racer Rick Brown.

Single day spectator is $15, weekend pass is $25, kids 12 and under are free.

Jeff, There will also be open time runs for all cars (not just Stock Super Stock) starting at 10:30am Sat.

You can count on two more cars cars being there, one stock (F/SA 69 Nova) and one super stock (69 SS/BA Camaro). Looks like a great event.

No Jeff, only one class per entrant. Stock, SS & Nostalgia S/S cars all run together in combo.
All other classes at the event are for the nostalgia type stuff (dragsters, gassers, street rods, etc.

Count me in. I had a great time last time I was at kil kare with the Buckeye stock /SS cars. Great hooking track. All new concrete.

What happens on these Friday night Litghtz ? Pro tree or what. What kind( how many) of index classes?

Friday Night Lightz is kind of like a Pinks All Out type event, just with more classes. Arm drop start. Only two index classes (11.50 & 12.99). The other classes are first car to the finish line wins, outlaw street car stuff (really fast 10.5 tire cars, etc). Info & rules are on the Friday Night Lightz web site.

Can someone tell me if this will be a 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile race . Also , is there 2 races , 1 on Saturday &1 on Sunday . Thanks bill

Bill, this race will be run on the 1/4 mile. There is one race. Time runs Sat & eliminations Sunday.

I know it's only Tuesday but the forcast for the weekend is looking really Good.
For those that have not been to Kil Kare or havn't been in a few years, the track has been under new ownership & management for the last couple of years. While other tracks have been struggling to hold on, the new ownership at Kil Kare has poured a lot of money into projects at the track including a complete new concrete racing surface, new concrete walls the entire length of the track & shutdown, new timing equipment & expanded & reconfigured staging lanes. The five year plan will include all new stadium style grandstands, improved concessions, restrooms & more.

Looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Well, day one is in the books. The day started out with perfect weather & some great wheels up time runs. Unfortunately about mid day the clouds & then the rain moved in & put an end to the on track action. Note the following schedule change for tomorrow. We will start tomorrow out by giving everyone one time run at 11:00am with first round shortly after.
Come on out & join in the fun tomorrow. I took a bunch of pictures that I'll post as soon as I get the chance.

A huge thanks to all that came out & raced with us this weekend. After loosing the second half of the day Saturday to rain , we were treated to a dry Sunday and some great racing. Randy Taylor took home the winner money and the golden piston trophy in his K/SA Camaro when Phil Pierce turned on the red light with his McCormack Motorsports Dodge truck. I have a bunch of photos from the weekend that I will upload shortly.
