The engine has been out a long time. Tomorrow I will take the bellhousing and starter to my engine builder so he can install it on his dyno Monday. Tuesday or Wednesday we should be making a few dyno pulls. The engine is for B/SA with cast iron heads and intake.

Very nice Rusty!!! I've been thinking about putting up a build thread for ours as well. Who's motor mounts are you running there?

To run with the some of the faster 396 69 camaros I would say it needs to make around 560.

Re: B/SA 1969 Mustang

I don't plan on running any NHRA events with this car maybe a few IHRA so the HP really doesn't matter as long as it will run under the index I will be happy.

Re: B/SA 1969 Mustang

We did not have a very good dyno session. We only got to make three good pulls before the water brake broke on the dyno. The plan was to compare the stock Cobra Jet 735 with the Quick Fuel replacement. We made the three pulls with the 735. 493 HP, 500 HP and 502 HP all around 5900.

Re: B/SA 1969 Mustang

I forgot to mention we made 502 hp on 93 octane gas and the timing was set at 34 degrees.

Thats around a 100hp less than the 428 engines running around now-a-days. cool to see you running again!

Considering all the problems with the dyno and the cast iron heads and intake have never and won't be acid ported I'm happy with those numbers so far.

Rusty,
I don't mean to hi-jack or anything, but have to ask a quick question. Did you ever finish that Red '67 Fairlane? Any recent pictures?

Mike
