Congratulaions to Tex Miller for setting the record at 10.64@122.96. Great weather for it![:-happy2-:]

Dick Moreland 04-01-2007 04:45 PM

Clayton & I would like to thank everyone for the kind words & congrats. I guess we are the the senior citizens of drag racing (O to be 65 again) doing it on social security OOPs there goes my check. Claytons driving was the best to keep ALL of our 273 friends from gettin H.P. & additional wt. the 13.775 95.96 was about perfect I think the older we get the better we were. & thanks again to everyone C.B.W. & D.M.

This is an April Fools joke.............................?
No nitrous................................?
I do not get any weight.................!!!!
Cool.
Way to go guys.

Ron Ortiz
U/SA one of these days i'm gonna get me some of that laughing gas and obliterate the record down to a 12.89. then retire immediately.

Daran Summerton 04-02-2007 08:34 AM

Great Job Dick -- That's a sledgehammer pass --- what was the 1/8th???
Coming to Belle Rose????

Dick Moreland 04-02-2007 09:23 AM

As many of you know the 1\8 record is not applicable to 1\4 mile passes which is great for the 1\8 th racers & rightfully so. To answer Darans question & possibly more info here goes 1\8 8.62 et 77.17 mph 60 ft. 1.761 Clayton & I again thanks for the kind words. As for Bowtie bombers knock of Atco I believe Belle Rose had similar conditions early on & BOTH are Great Tracks & Run by people whos main concern is for the racers. C.B.W. & D.M.

Jack McCarthy 04-02-2007 11:37 AM

nice run congrats to clayton & dick

jack mccarthy

what was the corrected altitude ??... temp... wind speed & direction
just curious as to how far behind the 273's i am now a days.

Tom Goldman 04-02-2007 02:05 PM

I was in the other lane when Clayton backed up his run on Friday. The weather was great, but not the best we've seen at Atco. .... The big factor was NO humidity! only about 17% and 14 grains of moisture in the air, that little 273 was running on O2 instead of H2O! ..... Baro was @30.35 with a AA of -300'. ........ The track prep was typical for Atco, The Best Anywhere! .....Tom

RichBiebel 04-02-2007 04:13 PM

Atco's track prep is the best......I only got to make 2 runs on sat. but my 60foots were both 1.342 on M/T's that are pretty worn. My 1000' times were also identical to the thousandth.

david ring 04-02-2007 06:22 PM

the D1 website has all the records set and winners in all classes up.

classof65 04-03-2007 09:47 PM

Yes sir, WAY TO GO.... Maestro, you and Clayton did a great tightrope walk on that one. Great number.

Jack, I don't know if you are behind any 273's, we all think you have some HUGE club waiting for us.

Alan, Maestro, Miss Donna and I will be trying our hand at the record game IHRA style at MIR in a week or so. We will be running at the NHRA weight though, just as we did what little we ran last year. Hope we can post a number similar to that of Clayton's but it will take some high stepping.....

Daran, where have you been?

Peace, Rev. Mopar

I'm lost - where did I knock Atco here? Congrats by the way. U/SA is way cool.

"The less I race the crankier I get..."

Daran Summerton 04-04-2007 07:27 AM

Racing pretty much every week. Try to get as many as possible before the heat starts really pounding. Might run the U car in Valdosta. Come set the record and I'll help you and Dick with the heavy lifting.

Jack McCarthy 04-04-2007 10:39 AM

well nice pass guys ...

even if it was -300 feet that soup can carb cant swallow too damn much good air...

jack

and bruce everyone just loves to give you some **** http://www.classracer.com/html/happy.gif

classof65 04-04-2007 08:28 PM

Daran - WHAT U/SA car are you talking about? Do you have another. I realize I am woefully out of touch...

Jack, is the wagon ready to race or have you moved it up a class or two?

Bruce, I think Maestro might have felt that you were saying he wouldn't have run as well in crappy weather - which he wouldn't.... He does not control the elements at ATCO... Darn, wish we had been able to go, could have given ol Clayton someone to play with...

Peace, Rev.

Bruce Fulper 04-04-2007 08:54 PM

I didn't post anything at all......!!
You U/SA guys are mind readers eh?
ha!

"The less I race the crankier I get..."

classof65 04-05-2007 09:16 PM

With McCarthy in the class you'd better be a mindreader.... He has more tricks than David Copperfield....

Hope you are able to get out and do some racing again soon. We like the old Bruce not the cranky Bruce....

WHAT U CAR DARAN?

Peace, Rev.

LW 04-06-2007 03:11 PM

Way to go DAAAD! I am proud of you! After all those years with us playing with trophies in the basement... with Hot Wheels instead of dolls... and you still have it! Keeps you young, I guess. Way to go, Maestro! Love, L.W.

Bob Mulry 04-06-2007 11:06 PM

Hi All,

Did NHRA change the record retirement to 24 months from 12 months???

I didn't see anything posted???

Thanx,
Bob

classof65 04-08-2007 02:33 PM

Bob, they did infact do just that. I think it was a wise move as the interest in the PERFORMANCE side was threatened by the 11 month 29 day cycle of the past few years. That sounds more like a jail sentence than a National Record.....

Peace, Rev. Mopar

Again - way to go Clayton and Maestro.....

Dick Moreland 04-09-2007 02:43 PM

MY apologies to the BOWTIEBOMBER must have been the meds or lack of in any case no slur was or is intended , my mind was still affected by the below sea level & good air @ Atco. Safe Racing . Dick AKA Maestro

Maestro273

Bruce Fulper 04-09-2007 03:30 PM

Ron Ortiz 04-09-2007 03:30 PM

Dick, can I have some of those meds?

Ron Ortiz
U/SA

classof65 04-10-2007 08:02 PM

Ask him after the IHRA Maryland race.....

Peace, Rev
