Rocker Arm Mike won the S/SS combo (Artic Bowl) at Darlington Saturday. At 1:00 pm air was -477 with 15-20 mile head/cross head winds all day. For safety reasons the race was run 1/8 mile. Only 14 S/SS cars showed up (weather and Easter week end). Due to small turnout, owner did a 100% pay back, 1000/500/125/125. Sam did his usual great track prep (I broke a ring gear first pass).

Hopefull the owner will give us another chance to show our support for a S/SS race. Mayhew suggest fouth of July week end. Works for me.

Yea rev, even at 4000+lbs, and not exactly being mistaken for an A/Hemi, it was surprising how much steering I had to do when the wind caught the car. But that made it more fun, almost like drivin a real racecar. [:-veryhappy-:]

By the way, reaction time got the bye run in this deal. Bobby Butler had a .000 in time runs and again Bobby got the second round bye with a .023. ( Beat my .029 and another guy's 024 ). SO.....ya'll better watch out for Butler this year ! ! !

I hope everyone that can will support Darlington when they have another S/SS event.
The owner had a meeting with us and said we could stay and get our money back and test & tune all day for free, ( due to only 14 cars being there ) or use 100% of our entry divided any way we wanted.
We all ask for these races, and this owner wants to have many more for us. I hope everyone will try to get there next time so he'll give us more.
Owner seems like a genuine and nice guy that will be great to race with.
As for this race......4 runs and done.....Cool.
