Awesome. The spirit of "Junior Stock" is alive and well. Can't wait to see more about build.

Already makes a fast Pure Stocker and do not have to add the roll bar.

Alan,

Great documentation!

I'm a huge fan of getting newer cars in Stock. They are plentiful and economical given their level of performance. And if you need a part there are dealers everywhere.

Hopefully this encourages more folks to get newer iron out there.

Not sure if that combo is allowed in Pure Stock Dan. Might be too new.
I know it is legal in the regular FI classes at IHRA.

On that run it was 90 lbs. heavy for I/SA and spun off the line, so had it not spun and was at minimum weight, that may have been a 13.05, just .75 away from the NHRA index and .55 off the E/FIA index @ IHRA.

Stock 3.31 rear gears, stock suspension, stock torque convertor, and totally stock engine. Definitely room for improvement.

For Pure Stock ..call it a 2005..it fits in the Rules.
Since the Engine is similar in all those years.
IHRA maybe compliant and add those years.

I take it you had a roll bar installed correct?

This is really cool, taking a newer car and doing the "dime rocket" approach as opposed to all the other new cars (mustang/challenger/Camaro) that have massive $$$$ dumped into them.

I hope this works really well for you Alan, good luck. (and chronicle everything with pic's please!)

[quote=ALMACK;502381]Yes Dan, I had to install a roll bar as per the rules.
This was my very first one I have ever done.
It came out better than I could have imagined.
The seats work as normal and even without swing out bars, the front seats can be removed and re-installed easily. :)

I did all the fitting of the S&W 8pt. kit and took the car to a welder and he welded it all up.
I had to turn the headrests around because the seat backs now do not lean back as far as stock with the roll bar.
Someday, when I can afford them, I want to buy the adjustable ones.

AND you kept the back seats...
Just in case someone needs a RIDE ;-)

Can you run VP C10 or C20 or Sunoco 260 GT?
They are all unleaded.

Dan

If I am reading the list correctly, I would say C10 and Sunoco 260 GT are good.
Did you mean 260 GTX ?

Don't see C20 listed:
