67 Cuda O/SA

I started the idea of this cuda to be built the least expensively, that has gone completely out the window. Its now a project to build the best car I can. Going to use the best parts and do it right the first time. Right now I am gathering parts here and there, asking a ton of questions and still hand blocking the sheet metal completely removing all of the factory and later paint jobs, and so far I have found four.

Here is my progress so far

That looks like a very nice shell your starting with. I wish you the best and I like the path you have set. To build the best car you can.

Neat car David. I hope that you have lots of fun and success with it!

Looks like a good time to open up the fenderwells a bit, particularly on the front edge so you can get a 30" tall slick under there. I dropped off some 302 heads at a local machine shop that I bought from Terry Dye last week when I was in Detroit. Just a clean up and Magnaflux to check for cracks. That's all I can afford after making the trip. I also bought some Centerline front wheels with the Mopar only 5 on 4" BC.

I may do that, but i need to get the right axles to where to open up the wheel wells. Once its all in primer, its going to be a front to back progression.

The only O/SA combination I see is a '68 318 2-bbl.

Possible Q/R combo with 273-2V . 17.64 factor according to Dwight's website as a '67. Now that would be sweet !

i was thinking about that combo too, but the 273 blocks I have found have been too thin to build a good engine on. But if I find some, I guess I could build that combo,

I guess if you can find an R3 block, then the 318 ought to have nice thick cylinder walls. The only ones that seem available are the short deck versions. I'm going to build a 273-2bbl and do a half fill with Hard Blok and hope that works. It will take a while before I get it ready to dyno.
