Good morning classracer. just wanted to share my newest purchase as i dive into the stocker world. i snagged this 84 dodge aries yesterday that Dan Klabanoff has been piloting for the last 30 years. 2.2 auto. supposedly runs 40 under pretty consistently, we will be doing some testing soon at beech bend. being new to this world, i am always looking for tips/tricks/ideas regarding anything on this car, so please give me your opinions!

Thanks,KG

Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way with this car, in just a few days, got her running smooth, cleaned carb, new timing belt, new front slicks(will be here tomorrow), changed all the fluids, new spark plugs, and a fuell cell(stock tank leaking). ready to hit bowling green in a couple weeks for the combo races! shooting for 50 under, fingers crossed.

Even though i got smacked around pretty good in the combo race itself, (in good air) it did go 50 under! pretty pleased with this worn out car. will be going thru major upgrades this winter, but i cant wait

UPDATE IN THIS STOCKER ADVENTURE/TORTURE.

another car, still tracking a hood down, multiple transmissions, transaxle gears, and alot of energy drinks/beers. we finally got everything coming back together. picking up the trans this friday. convertor is fresh. motor is back together. the "original" white car i posted will probably have spare stuff in it to be raceable but it is in poor shape. i have a stick shift combo here i could use. hmmmmm.

Trying to make the 1st combo race in beech bend! do or die trying i guess.

crossing my fingers that we can go 75 under.

this car is rough. rust, bondo, and the lack of care it has had the past 10 years or so. instead of doing the body and paint work, i decided to purchase another k car. this one was a former SS/GS car so it had all the good racing stuff in it, cage, MSD, gauges, racing wheels, etc. In the long run, will be better then trying to revive "whitey"

I know what you mean, if I didn't have personal reasons, I'd of got a rust free southern body to build. Looks good from the one picture I saw, LOL!!
