428 NHRA Stocker Rocker Arms

I was told NHRA may now be allowing aftermarket rocker arms (Similar to Harland Sharp Non-Adj) to be used in 428 Stockers, as a replacement ? I’m not finding it in the appendage like the Molnar Rods. Brent Lykins makes a nice non adjustable shaft system I’d like to use if this is indeed correct

Thank you…..I’m guessing I need to purchase the NHRA Rulebook pertaining to the 428. The rocker arms come in both 1.73 and 1.76 from the factory.

Get it in writing from Pat Cvengros, or Dave Ley, but the basic intent of the roller rocker arm rule is that the rocker arm must bolt to the head without modification or machine work. I don't see where the rule specifies the method of adjustment, or that the aftermarket roller rockers must be non adjustable if the factory rockers were non adjustable. So you may not need to buy non adjustable rocker arms. I'd see what is available that I wanted, and then contact Pat and/or Dave.

No problem.

Don’t forget to get some really good rocker shafts. Sometimes the ends break off.

I currently have the T&D FE rockers and shafts and they work really well so far. My previous engine had POP (precision oil pump) rockers and I liked them also. If you use T&D, you need to use the street rockers because the race rockers are a paired set up with modified mounting and oil through the pushrods which is not stock on an FE.

I use the Harland Sharp bushed version. If you do wind up getting them, make sure you ask for a washer under the adjustment nut. They have a tendency to loosen without it.

Some creative bracing inside a sturdy custom valve cover should help with that.

They do make end stands that support the area so that doesnt happen or reduces defelection

I'm sure Keith or Kuntz and company, or Vern could point folks in the rite direction for the rocker shaft stuff for the FE
