This Is what I know to this point unless MJ has new info. Last night Don called me (he usually calls about 2 - 3 times a week). We go way back to the 70's when we were both running SD Pontiac's in SS. When I answered, I had to rib him some because he usually calls earlier. So I said a smart _ss thing: "Isn't this past your bedtime?" There was a pause and then he said "I 'm in the hospital and I had a heart attack. They have put 2 stents in me. I was shocked and said stent work well and most are outpatient, so you are probably going home soon. He said no, I have to stay. Tomorrow (Friday) they are putting 2 more stents in or doing heart surgery." Thats what I know at this point. If I'm wrong and people have more precise info then I apologize ... I have called Don 2 times today and he did not answer, left a voice mail ... Hopefully he is just resting and recovering ... Bill

No updates but his daughter said on Facebook "All he is worried about is if he gets to go racing next month."

This is from Don's Facebook page. Earlier post said the stents were not successful and double bypass surgery was needed. Prayers for Don...

They were able to get my dad in for emergency surgery this evening at 6:30 and he got out around 12:30 am. The doctors and nurses were amazing and they did everything they could to give his heart a chance to function as best it can. Quote from his heart surgeon - ?we?ve done everything we can but it has always been in God?s hands and it still is?. We now are in a wait and see pattern, but we do know there is a long road ahead for him Please pray that he responds well and that he and my mom are able to get through this.

Hey Bobby, he is getting stronger. He is breathing better and waking up for short amounts. Responding to commands. The doctors and nurses are happy to see so many positive signs after the last few days. Still a long way to go but seems to be trending the right direction. Keep the prayers coming.
