This is great, met the legend last week at Woodburn. He looks darn good for someone almost 82 years old and apparently is still young enough to beat a lot of whippersnappers. Congrats team Method!

While I have never had the privilege of meeting Cal, just from the NHRA.TV winners interview you could tell how likeable he is.

I just turned seventy-eight and wow does Cal make me feel like a slacker!

I'm in my seventies amd remember reading about Cal, and some still active others like Dick Maris, Ben Wenzel in Super Stock and Drag Illustrated, Car Craft Magazine and National Dragster.
For Cal to win this race and especially againt the reigning champions, the great Joe and Hal Sorensen.
I think of Bobby Warren and hope he's well.

This pegs the cool meter!! We met Cal and Mary Ann at SGMP a couple yeas ago. Probably 79 or 80 then and still driving all the way across the country!! Congrats Cal!!

Class Racing Today (Brian Anderson/Bobby Fazio) had an interview with Cal about 3 years ago (episode 48). Always worth watching again.

On the NHRA website under 5 things we learned st Seattle.

Cal is now the oldest person to win an NHRA National Event. How cool is that??? Way to go Cal, now go do it again, O.K?
