Gas Tank Door

I plan on using a fuel cell in my 86 Camaro in Stock Elim. I looked through some pictures and saw some third gen. Super Stock Camaros with the gas tank door removed and patched. Can I do the same where this will be a Stocker? The rule titled Body is word for word the same between Stk and S/S and does not mention anything about this. I just see a lot a pictures of third gen. Stocker Camaros with the door still there, but they may be using the gas tank. Thanks.

So if you have a gas tank door on the rear quarter panel, and don't need it because a fuel cell is used, can the door be removed and patched with sheet metal? I saw pictures of S/S'ers with the quarter panel patched, but was wondering if this is OK in stock. Thanks

I would assume you would be ok , why is the quarter rusted:)?

No, it's hard to find rust on this car (obviously it's not an original Nova Scotia car or the salt would have ate it, it came from the southern states somewhere). I just wanted to see if I could clean up the quarter panel since that door would not be needed if a fuel cell was used. Thanks for the responses.
