Joshua Lee

What engine combination does Joshua Lee run in his H/EA?

It looks like he has a Honda logo on the scoop.

I think he still use a Honda engine.

Josh uses a Version based off a F20c Honda engine---these came in the Honda S2000 used from 2000-2009--FED 387

Now just for the fun of it, I play here with some “theoretical” numbers from his set-up.
The H/EA minimum weight is 1100 lbs with 8, 25 lbs per cu.in. giving us an engine of 134 cu.in. (utilizing the minimum weight)
Index is 9, 56 sec. and Joshua Lee have a personal index of 9, 52 sec. He own the record at 8, 84 sec, (04/11/23) at 150 mph that is giving 0, 72 sec. under the index and 0, 68 under his personal index. You need 424, 63 H.P. (Wallace racing E.T and MPH calculator) to do it.
(3, 17 H.P. per cu.in.)
Now, let applied this set-up to the dragster class: L/DA. Minimum weight at 850 lbs and 7, 50 lbs per cu.in. Index is: 8, 85 sec.
134 cu.in. with 7, 50 lbs per cu.in., give 1005 lbs with 424, 63 H.P. (Wallace racing E.T and MPH calculator) give an E.T. of 7.77 seconds and 174.01 MPH. A whopping
1, 08 under!!!

The Honda F20C is a great design and a great choice for Competition Eliminator.

Are you suggesting that he makes 3.17 HP/cid ?
***Nitro Joe's indicates that he has a 146 cid engine. 146 * 8.25 = 1205 lbs. min. wt. ****

Re: Joshua Lee

If you use the Wallace racing E.T and MPH calculator...
at 146 cu.in. at 8,25 lbs/cu.in.=1205 lbs., you need 465,16 H.P. for his 8,84 record run. That give 3,186 H.P. per cu.in.

Hi Greenlight, by the way`
I don't pretend that the Wallace racing E.T and MPH calculator algorithm is right on target.
So my reason of the part text "Just for the fun of it".
If you use the first tabloid on the Wallace racing E.T and MPH calculator and you introduce the weight 1205 lbs and the new calcul of 465,16 H.P., you will obtain and E.T. of 8,00 second. (So something is wrong somewhere)
And at the end, if you use the old Moroso Power-speed calculator, you will obtain around 335-340 H.P. for his record time of 8,84 sec. at 1205 lbs.
Definitively something to think...

When I ran H/EA with my 171 CI Trail Blazer Engine, I went 8.64 @ 1400# @ VMP. Joshua Lee has a great combo for H/EA.
