Engine Diapers

I had the misfortune of an engine failure going through the lights. Fortunately, the car did not get caught up in the oil, however I unfortunately oiled the track pretty bad. This said, I am not looking to roll the dice on this type of problem again and I am looking for advice as to engine diapers and any associated issues with using them.

Any advice and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Kevin

After experiencing a major blow up with a diaper installed, I can tell you I will never run a car again without one. Two holes in the block and no oil got out on the tires or track. Fully contained in the diaper. Call Dennis Ridgeway and get one for your car.

A diaper is on my to do list for this winter. How much of a problem installing one on a stock frame 3rd gen Camaro with a SBC?

Re: Engine Diapers

Have been using the basic diaper for SBC from Dennis @ DRE. Fits my 90 IROC well enough not a custom fit, no doubt a custom would be better but pretty good for the money. Had some wear and header burn where there was no heat resistant cloth after several years of use. Sent it back and for a fair cost repaired and added some heat resistant cloth. East to work with.

Other than DRE a friend was happy with a custom from Taylor Motorsports. Was for a small Mopar S/ST car.

In my opinion, even with all the BS you might have to go through with installing and uninstalling to change oil, etc. You cant replace you.
Dennis at DRE or Taylor make very nice Diapers. If you ever have to use it, you will in fact tell your wallet, thank you. I have blown an engine @ 175 in the lights and as the previous person said, glad I had the diaper on.

Dennis can tailor make for your application, just give him a call. On my chassis Avenger with a small block his standard diaper fit great and gave me a lot peace of mind. Remember, it will also catch a small water pump leak or such that would otherwise get you shut off on the line.

Plus he advertises here!
