Sbc GM connecting rods

I’ve a set of X rods with a set of trw 2304-030 mounted on them.
Are they a better option than a China I beam for a 7000 rpm Engine?

imo any stock rod @ 7k is risky...thats a heavy piston too. early thick X rods r much better than late model skinny beam units....NO on the china stuff @ that rpm.

The problem with any "used" con. rods regardless of origin is just how many cycles have they already endured ? Kind of a fear of the unknown concept on a very critical internal component.

It's been five or so years since I've built an engine. What is the good setup these days for a large journal SBC 327 or 350 that is a good piece without a questionable point of origin? Brand name, part number, etc. That's for a stocker motor with a good light piston and pin.

Can’t go wrong with a Manley I beam rod.

I am going with Molnar Technologies for my present build. Tom Molnar has been great to work with.

The approved Molnar rods for the Gen 1 SBC for Stock and Super Stock class, will clear a 55mm cam without notching the connecting rods.
