Intake for Super Stock 327
I see most everyone running the 2978 Victor E but I've seen several real fast ones with a 2975 Victor Jr. Anybody got any insight or real world comparisons ?

Re: Intake for Super Stock 327
At the risk of Bigley calling me an idiot again (and posting pictures of his '68 Chevelle and telling us for 4 millionth time how fast it was), I will tell what I experienced. Replaced a Jr with an E on a 327/250 (with 520 heads) and it slowed down in the first half of the track. Went directly back to the Jr and was right back where I started. My judgment based on that was that the E was probably just too "big" (runner size) for a 283/220 or a small-valve 327. Never got a chance to try it on a 1.94/1.50 327 or a 350, though I've been told that's where they work.

Re: Intake for Super Stock 327
when building my Super - 10 with 327/300 Gary Hettler recommended and furnished a Super E.
This engine has the 585 Quick Fuel carb. I have not run any other intake to compare, I when with Hettler's experience. On that subject Gary did say that a manual trans engine responds to a Victor Jr because the RPM between shifts pulls down more than a converter equipped engine. |

Gary would know.

I bought a 327/275 engine earlier this year. It had all Heads Up top end, The intake was a Victor E. I have not run the engine yet.
