Small Journal replacements
 

In recent times small journal blocks (327) have become very hard to find. (at least up here in frostbackistan) It states you can use a large journal block with spacers, or thick bearings, but again those spacers and bearings have become unobtainable. Is there any reason you can't use a large journal block and crank since it really isn't a performance advantage? As I understand the rules only state how far you can undercut the crank?

Chris... I recently purchased 3 sets of LJ to SJ Bearing Spacers from
RACE ENGINEERING, Part # BS-327. I have used them for years, the quality is good. Small Journal Blocks are not that plentiful out on the West Coast also. Hope this helps... Maurice.

The rule book states the original engine block housing size shown in the approved parts list must be maintained. The smaller journals have lower bearing speeds, however, it does not make sense when you are allowed to use bearing spacers to not allow either large or small journal blocks. the larger journal crankshaft, although heavier, it is more stable and flexes less.
